Thomas S Monson, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ordered to appear before British magistrates' court amid claims that the organisation's teaching amounts to 'fraud'
A British magistrate has issued an extraordinary summons to the worldwide leader of the Mormon church alleging that its teachings about mankind amount to fraud.
Thomas S. Monson, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been ordered to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court in London next month to defend the churchs doctrines including beliefs about Adam and Eve and Native Americans.
A formal summons signed by District Judge Elizabeth Roscoe warns Mr Monson, who is recognised by Mormons as Gods prophet on Earth, that a warrant for his arrest could be issued if he fails to make the journey from Salt Lake City, Utah, for a hearing on March 14.
In one of the most unusual documents ever issued by a British court, it lists seven teachings of the church, including that Native Americans are descended from a family of ancient Israelites as possible evidence of fraud.
It also cites the belief that the Book of Mormon was translated from ancient gold plates revealed to the churchs founder Joseph Smith by angels and that Adam and Eve lived around 6,000 years ago.

Yup; you sure told us alright; but you FAILED to give references for your BOLD assertion.
Don't have any?
I'm not saying anything...and the Scriptures are not saying the sun and moon were created after the vegetation grew. If you notice, Genesis describes the waters being "separated above and below" leaving an "expanse" between, not side to side. This is likely the cloud covering rising with the warming of the sea by the sun as the dust cloud surrounding earth escapes into space.
As the cloud cover begins a rain cycle, the land rises from the sea to form "pangea", the sun and moon become visible on the earth. Notice the difference between the verb "made" and "created". As I said, this comports with what is understood by most "scientific theories". And, if one understands the Scriptures to be authored by God, then the descriptions are God giving Moses some very vague, general views of the process, not a detailed step-by-step list of His work.
Then why use “history” from a mormon “prophet” to address a question about doctrine?
Mormons argue that we can’t use “historical” documents from other “prophets” when presenting rebuttals to mormon doctrine because they’re supposedly NOT representative of mormon doctrine...
Signs of a double standard for sure.
And you were wrong. There is not a shred of evidence that anything done in mormonic temples is remotely similar to the original Jewish Temple. In fact, temple rituals are not even described in your mormonic works.
Again, stolen from Masons, of which young Joe was one.

Think what you want you are going to anyway...
There might be similarities just like their is to the Hopi Indian, but it is not our ceremony Joseph receive revelation for his day same as today as we progress on our journey the Lord gives us more for our understanding...
Nor do others do baptism for the dead!

If you're referring to the Book of Exodus and the descriptions therein, you're doing it wrong...with the exception of a "veil", the LdS temples are nothing like what is described in the Book of Exodus.
However, there is an event described in Leviticus 10 that bears warning to those who use the temple for their own devices...

Interestingly the Bible gives one such example of disobedience to the commands concerning the Golden Altar of Incense within the Tabernacle of Moses. As only Aaron and his kin could serve in the tabernacle of Moses the incident involves his family. Two sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, were found guilty by the Lord for violating His commands in Leviticus 10.
Verse one records their transgression against God in the tabernacle of Moses.
"Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective firepans, and after putting fire in them, placed incense on it and offered strange fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded."
The English word strange is translated from the same Hebrew word discussed above. [*] Whatever the strange fire was, it is clear the Lord had not commanded it. Thus, it would seem the two were up to their own agenda, rather than God's. However, as Scripture is silent as to the nature and reason for their transgression it is best not to speculate too much.
In order to serve within the tabernacle of Moses, and later the Temple in Jerusalem, obedience and purity of heart was a necessity from the Priests. Nadab and Abihu were found lacking by God, and though their punishment may seem harsh to modern sensibilities, it should be noted God's judgement always trumps man's. Verse two records their fate.
"And fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord."
This even clearly took place within the Holy Place of the tabernacle of Moses. God's Presence rested just on the other side of the veil, which separated the Altar from the Ark. However God manifested His fire, its effect was fatal for Nadab and Abihu as they were consumed. God's message to the Israelites in this early part of their covenant with Him was obedience had to be absolute. Obedience to God was a serious issue, and as such required serious consequences for transgression.
End SNIP
*The Hebrew word translated strange is Zuwr (pronounced zoor), and means to turn aside, to be a foreigner, strange, profane. In some instances it is used to denote adultery.

Really? Do you have a source that indicates baptisms were occurring before John the Baptist conducted the first baptisms...well after King Solomon.
“but it is not our ceremony Joseph receive revelation for his day same as today as we progress on our journey the Lord gives us more for our understanding...”
Again, you cannot directly prove in any way that what mormons do in their so-called temples has any connection to anything except masonic rituals, which Joe was a big fan of. Even when he got shot, he was shouting out the masonic distress cry.
You simply have no objective evidence for any of mormonism. All you’ve got is feelings.
If you had any, you’d have posted it.
I shoulda read ahead...I guess tag teaming the topic won’t hurt though...although I’m sure an answer will not be forthcoming.
You weren’t supposed to “get” that...
Simple minded easily lead, or just dumb.
when the world goes to hell knowing your attitude towards us surly You will have to fine refuge elsewhere, Zion is not on TN list to visits until the Lord comes..
I like you in spite of yourself
I’ve been trying to follow this mess and frankly I don’t even understand what that last comment even means.
Why thank you restornu!
I’ll take that as a compliment and I’ll add...
That I like you and Jesus loves you!
Your welcome and Jesus loves you too SZonian and always will!
We keep asking restornu for sources, and she keeps on reaching into her grab bag and pulling out anything.
Well, a “grab bag” is a source, right? ;^)
Actually; she is as cunning as a fox.
We FI’s have turned her and she’s a mole plant: deep inside the bowels of Mormonism, constantly showing lurkers how pathetic it is to be a thoroughly convinced Mormon.
