Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

We Now Begin ACT TWO of Handel's Messiah. If Act One is known as the "Christmas Section", then Act Two is the "Good Friday/Easter" Section.

It opens with a solemn chorus quoting John The Baptist, who pointed out Jesus of Nazareth in a crowd and said, "Behold the Lamb of God."

In Ancient Israel, a lamb had immediate significance, as it was the Passover Sacrifice that identified the Jews, and saved them from the Angel of Death. In the Tabernacle, and later in the Temple, a lamb was the Sacrifice for The Holy Days, and was also included in the daily sacrificial system.

A lamb also symbolized the next generation of a family's wealth, as the Israelites had always been shepherds. John's statement must have truly puzzled his adherents. How can a Man be a Lamb?

Come and pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Praise the Lord, in all we do, and do not do. Let it be with conscious purpose.

Prayers for the peace of Israel, Jerusalem, all of those seeking to know God and do His Will, and the lost, the broken hearted, the captives, and the persecuted believers. We praise, honor, and worship the LORD. We thank Thee for thy mercy, forgiveness, love, compassion, righteousness, the SCRIPTURES and all the blessings we receive every single moment, in Jesus name. AMEN.
