Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

We Now Begin ACT TWO of Handel's Messiah. If Act One is known as the "Christmas Section", then Act Two is the "Good Friday/Easter" Section.

It opens with a solemn chorus quoting John The Baptist, who pointed out Jesus of Nazareth in a crowd and said, "Behold the Lamb of God."

In Ancient Israel, a lamb had immediate significance, as it was the Passover Sacrifice that identified the Jews, and saved them from the Angel of Death. In the Tabernacle, and later in the Temple, a lamb was the Sacrifice for The Holy Days, and was also included in the daily sacrificial system.

A lamb also symbolized the next generation of a family's wealth, as the Israelites had always been shepherds. John's statement must have truly puzzled his adherents. How can a Man be a Lamb?

Come and pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

To: left that other site; All

Lambs are adorable and innocent, and in truth they are prone to fall into holes or ditches, are shadowed by foxes, wolfs, vultures. and other carnivorous wild animals.

Christians are like lambs before the slaughter. Totally incapable of defending themselves, depending on and trusting the LORD to save us. The LORD choose to call us lambs because we really are vulnerable and surrounded by those wanting to kill us. We are challenged to trust God, and have faith. Is anything impossible to God? We are beset on every side ... we are to keep our eyes upon Jesus.

We bow before Thee LORD in trust, faith, love, worshiping and thanking Thee for thy grace, mercy, love, hope, compassion, goodness, righteousness, asking forgiveness for our sins. We cling to thy Word and pray for eternal life with Thee. We forgive those that spitefully use us. in Jesus name we pray. We pray for the peace of Israel, Jerusalem, for all seeking to know Thee, the captives, the broken hearted, the lost, the persecuted believers, and we pray for restoration of America to our former values and faith in Thee LORD. Amen.
