Advocates say it isn't enough for churches to enact policies to prevent child sexual abuse, but churches where abuse has already occured must be more vocal in helping police catch predators.
A victim support group held signs outside a Houston megachurch Jan. 9 calling for greater transparency about the reporting of child sexual abuse in Southern Baptist churches.

I can see you don’t believe in the fundamental tenets of the Christian faith. Which sins do you think Christ didn’t pay the price for on the Cross?
The penalty has been paid and the sins have been judged.
Forgiveness is a separate issue.
Sorry, please see last post for clarification on what I was trying to say there.

>.”Forgiveness is a separate issue.
So I think you are saying saved does not necessarily mean forgiven?
>”the sins have been judged.”
Your future sins have already been judged?
No problem, forgiven.
LOL!
All sins, past present and future have been judged on the Cross some 2000 years ago. Sin is no longer the issue. That was manifest when He was resurrected.
Saved means saved from eternal damnation. We now have eternal life in the new man, ...we are now tricotomous, body, soul, and human spirit.
Our spiritual walk is impeded and halted by sin.
1stJn1:9 allows us forgiveness of postsalvation sin, so we might continue the spiritual walk through faith in Christ with Him, to perform good works which are good by Divien standards, not human dead works which are parlayed into evil by the Adversary.
How about your sins?
Are your past present and future sins not an issue? No matter what you do?
Suppose you blaspheme the Holy Spirit?
2 different forgivenesses.
1 for salvation, eternal life.
2nd for post salvation sins for our resumption of the spiritual life through faith in Christ.
Under conditions. You'd have to make presumptions to presume your forgiveness of future sin.
Oh, friend, can you not see you've gone off the rails parsing this? Forgiven is forgiven.

Oh, friend, can you not see you've gone off the rails parsing this? Sin is sin. Forgiven is forgiven.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
Romans 8:1-11 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
The saved person, who is born again, has two natures, the flesh and the spirit.
Without an understanding of what salvation really is, there is no way to understand the relationship of sin, confession, and repentance.
When we turn to God and ask Him to save us, we are born again, we become saved from the penalty of sin. We still do sin and we still do need to ask forgiveness for that sin but the sin no longer has the power to damn us even though it interferes with the lines of communication between us and God. Confession and repentance is for our sake. God cannot and will not bless sin.
Without an understanding of what salvation really is, there is no way to understand the relationship of sin, confession, and repentance.
We agree on this. This why soteriology of OSAS creates some major problems regarding sin, confession, repentance, judgment, forgiveness
- and some questions whose only possible answers reveal them, such as here.
We are saved from the power and penalty of sin because God CHOOSES to not count our transgressions against us because we are trusting in His mercy and forgiveness for those sins.
God’s justice was satisfied with the death of Christ on the cross and sin no longer has any dominion over us. We have overcome the world and death.
I am crucified in Christ. IN CHRIST, God counts me as having died to sin and since Christ paid the penalty for that sin, IN CHRIST, that penalty was paid for me.
So sin no longer has any power over me and whether I die with unconfessed sin or not, as I died in Christ, I am alive in Him and His righteousness in credited to my account.
THAT is how I am saved, once for all and that’s why OSAS works.
Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. Sin is not greater than God.
More simply expressed:
Sin is missing the mark of God’s Plan.
Evil is Satan’s policy.
The power of sin was overcome at the Cross.
Good and evil have not yet been so addressed.
Since all sin has already been judged, the decision to forgive may be given at a moment’s notice.
Good and evil have not yet been judged, so they may not yet be so forgiven.
The present conflict is between good and evil. Once we are saved, we also fight in that spiritual conflict. When we sin, we fall out of fellowship and our actions no longer constitute divine good, but instead human good, which is void of spiritual righteousness.
Post salvation forgiveness takes us out of the soulish life and back into the spiritual life, so that we might continue to grow in Him and to fight the good fight.
After the Garden of Eden we now have the knowledge of good and evil, but from that we surely die. Our redemption is through Christ, by remaining in fellowship with Him, God grows us to follow His Plan. When we try to do this on our own, or in an effort to perform good works, we simply fall into arrogance, making God a debtor, and out of fellowship with Him.
By remaining in fellowship with Him by repentance and confession, our focus is always to remain through faith in Christ. Faith alone in Christ alone.
Future sin has been addressed at the Cross, but as it is future, we do not have to sin. It is absurd to forgive future sin.
