More simply expressed:

Sin is missing the mark of God’s Plan.

Evil is Satan’s policy.

The power of sin was overcome at the Cross.

Good and evil have not yet been so addressed.

Since all sin has already been judged, the decision to forgive may be given at a moment’s notice.

Good and evil have not yet been judged, so they may not yet be so forgiven.

The present conflict is between good and evil. Once we are saved, we also fight in that spiritual conflict. When we sin, we fall out of fellowship and our actions no longer constitute divine good, but instead human good, which is void of spiritual righteousness.

Post salvation forgiveness takes us out of the soulish life and back into the spiritual life, so that we might continue to grow in Him and to fight the good fight.

After the Garden of Eden we now have the knowledge of good and evil, but from that we surely die. Our redemption is through Christ, by remaining in fellowship with Him, God grows us to follow His Plan. When we try to do this on our own, or in an effort to perform good works, we simply fall into arrogance, making God a debtor, and out of fellowship with Him.

By remaining in fellowship with Him by repentance and confession, our focus is always to remain through faith in Christ. Faith alone in Christ alone.
