Pornography has become increasingly prevalent and available since the early 1950s when Playboy magazine first forced its way into the mainstream.
Sadly, those who have opposed the spread of porn during this time have been defeated at every turn. Efforts to eliminate adult bookstores, adult movie theatres, adult movie rentals and adult cable stations have all failed.
With porn now available on every screen and some sort of screen available to every person, we can fairly say that the war is now over. All attempts to block the flood of porn have failed. We have lost the war on porn.
The New Objective
In the face of failure, the goals have changed

I can go out and get crack and meth any time I want to. I don't have any interest in doing so. I've has maybe 5 drinks of alcoholic beverages in the last 12 months, even though liquor stores are less than 10 minutes away.
Googling for "free porn" turns up lots of sites. I have better things to do than visit them.
We have different memories of Cosmo, as a male I read it during the mid 1970s as a way to know what was on the minds and lips of the females in the nightclubs, it was very helpful in my pursuits, it was a trashy magazine then as well.
“”In 1967, the magazine reclaimed the name Cosmopolitan and was refocused as a magazine for women. The magazine eventually adopted a cover format consisting of a usually young female model, typically in a low cut dress or bikini. The magazine focused on young women and published articles that openly talked about sexual issues.[citation needed]
This was not Brown’s first publication dealing with sexually liberated women. Her 1962 advice book, Sex and the Single Girl, had been a bestseller.[citation needed] Fan mail begging for Brown’s advice on many subjects concerning women’s behavior, sexual encounters, health, and beauty flooded her after the book was released. Brown sent the message that a woman should have men complement her life, not take it over. Enjoying sex without shame was also a message she incorporated in both publications.[10]
In Brown’s early years as editor, the magazine received heavy criticism. The magazine ran a near-nude centerfold of actor Burt Reynolds in April 1972, causing great controversy and attracting much attention.””
Your attempt at a smackdown = fail.
I've seen Marilyn's movies. As far as beauty goes, I don't see her as better looking than many of her contemporaries like Sophia Loren (who I regard as a better actress as well).
As far as going to the movies to see exceptionally-cute women, there are lots of cute women on TV as well. Much cuter than the average "porn star".
I don t think Marilyn was the most beautiful either. But her career was almost entirely based on her looks. I mentioned Niagara because it is almost soft porn. She is shown in tight dresses, taking a shower, sleeping nude under the sheets, etc. And she wasn’t even the lead (Jean Peters was). She was quite successful for a 10 year stretch based on being a sex symbol.
Hollywood types boast that they are "pushing the envelop" but there is no envelop anymore - anything goes just about. Little kids use words today that NOBODY said back when I was in high school even. All these things work together to coarsen our culture and the result is evident all around us. The "sexual revolution" that was imagined would bring in free love and peace in the world has resulted in rampant divorce, rapes, domestic violence, abortions, single mothers, kids with absent fathers, crime, poverty, lessening of respect for women and all life in general. It was Satan's lie and the godless drank it up.
Will there come a time when morality, order, respect, wholesomeness, goodness, gentleness and genuine love will once again be the norm? Yes, but only when Jesus Christ returns. Until then, we can strive to bring these attributes into our lives and those whom we know and can influence. I think everyone secretly yearns for the simpler times. Sin has its pleasure for a season but they are fleeting and its fruit is ruin, destruction and everlasting condemnation. Many, sadly, will only realize that when it is too late.
You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, No one sees me. Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, I am, and there is none besides me. Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you. (Isaiah 47:10-11)
