You don't need a priest, or sacraments, or a "church", or a denomination, or charismatic 'gifts' or baptism or hierarchal permission, sanction nor absolution ...

...you are bordering on preaching cheap grace if you are out saying you can outsmart God and his system.
I believe you should have included NKP_Vet in your ping to that statement.

I seems he can decided who is saved or not saved.

If Grace-to-salvation can come from a human it really doesn't help, sorry.

Wow, I never thought I would see anyone who does not even understand the basic keys for Christian salvation deciding who Jesus saves or allows to condemn themselves to eternal separation from God.

That may be because they are not looking at it from God's perspective, but only through their own self-serving view.

Uhhhh ... you're saved ... born again

From THAT point, you get into all the doctrinal learning.

The problem with most Christians is that they treat Jesus like a lifeguard that can pluck them out when they are drowning

Perhaps in your denomination, that hasn't been my experience. But we may have a different definition of the word Christian.

But according to scripture what is being a sinner if not similar to drowning?

Yes, it is a Bible thing, because Christ was the first one into heaven.

So that thief is still sitting there in Paradise waiting for God to take him out and into heaven???

You don't need a priest, or sacraments,...etc. etc

You don't need to be articulate or literate, a random passing thought will suffice. All you need is the Internet and the Holy Book of Ethel Merman.

-— What’s a non Catholic required to do to receive the full benefit of full forgiveness of God??? -—

If the person does not believe that the Catholic Church is the church that Christ founded, they must “repent and believe.”

But they won’t have the psychological certainty of God’s forgiveness that Catholics receive in Confession, nor the graces that the sacrament imparts.

You can always look in the Catechism...

At least Bundy only severed human heads with a knife. Those who hate on Catholicism who "continue" to disrespect Christ by announcing the Eucharist is symbol only (when the Bible states otherwise), are stabbing God in the heart.

Correctamundo!

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

And paradise was where all the souls of the faithful from the Old Testament were waiting. Catholics call this waiting place Purgatory, correct?

So it is plain that this thief is already in heaven.

The verse belows shows that these were waiting for the resurrection
Hosea 6
2
After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

These are the firstfruits who went with Jesus in the resurrection.

"The OSAS crowd goes a step further. Get saved first, then do whatever you want. "

Actually, you're exactly correct

Once The Holy Spirit comes in to live, you'd be surprised at whatever you want

A thirst and a hunger for God does not translate into sin

Anyone that believes they can sin without guilt. impunity and retribution ...

(going out on a limb here ...)

ISN'T born again ... ISN'T saved ...ISN'T going to heaven when they die.

So that's it? Seems like quite a selfish self-serving viewpoint to me. Have you ever considered that there may be a purpose behind salvation? That it actually may be a starting line rather than a finish line? Have you ever looked at it from God's viewpoint?

If getting saved is all there is to it, than we can toss out 99.99% of the New Testament. Jesus preached for three solid years, and every one of his sermons and teachings had one common theme. Just one. And 'getting saved' was not it.

“But if you want to contend it is the RC priesthood, then since objective examination of Scripture is not your basis for determining doctrinal Truth and assurance, you might state what your basis is.”

I ...I... I ....As far as what YOU interpret, what YOU believe to be a requirement. Shall we have the pandemonium of 10,000 interpretations via, 1000 denominations and yet another 1000 splits?

You ask by what authority does....?

The Catholic Church, the pillar and foundation of Truth, compiled and confirmed the Bible and is responsible for its interpretations. Which has been the case and still is, despite, unchallenged for 1,500 years. God’s mistake? I think not.

So, I’ll abide the Church that Jesus Christ set up for us and the promises of Jesus and the 2,000 year old history of this Holy institution and the men from within it who gave Western Civilization the University. Yes, I’ll accept their interpretations and translations of ancient Greek and Aramaic over those who do not abide it.

Irenaeus
“It is possible, then, for everyone in every church, who may wish to know the truth, to contemplate the tradition of the apostles which has been made known throughout the whole world. And we are in a position to enumerate those who were instituted bishops by the apostles and their successors to our own times—men who neither knew nor taught anything like these heretics rave about.

“But since it would be too long to enumerate in such a volume as this the successions of all the churches, we shall confound all those who, in whatever manner, whether through self-satisfaction or vainglory, or through blindness and wicked opinion, assemble other than where it is proper, by pointing out here the successions of the bishops of the greatest and most ancient church known to all, founded and organized at Rome by the two most glorious apostles, Peter and Paul, that church which has the tradition and the faith which comes down to us after having been announced to men by the apostles...

...With this church, because of its superior origin, all churches must agree—that is, all the faithful in the whole world—and it is in her that the faithful everywhere have maintained the apostolic tradition” (Against All Heresies, 3:3:1–2).

’ll answer your question.

I did not make the statement or ask you the question you are responding to. But in Scripture conversion was preceded by conviction of need, and manifested in repentance.

I help ghosts that are stuck here due to their sin by redeeming them and helping them in crossing over to heaven. I’ve been doing it for over 20 years with compassion and Love.

You help ghosts that are stuck here due to their sin? What religion is this and how do you help them, specifically. Your

In other words, Jesus can’t do all your work for you!

Sorry, you have to mow your own lawn and rake the leaves yourself.

They give much insight into understanding the Gospel.

I have had a few experiences that have made me want to get into the Gospel, and some that confirmed my belief, but it is a witness only to me.

The biggest arguments are over what did Jesus actually say?

We can only find it in the four Gospels.

Why would you trust Matthew who says, 'Jesus said this' but not trust Paul who mostly says, 'Jesus told me to say this'??? Especially since Peter calls Paul's writing scripture???

God is all about work. When He gave the Promised Land to Israel, He described it as 'a land of milk and honey'. Now I don't know if you've ever spent time on a dairy farm, but that's hard work, I can assure you. And honey? That comes from bee hives. But to get that honey, you have to do some serious warfare with those bees.

Work and warfare - that is what God has in store for us to do.
