You are using a strange Bible to have all these quotes in past tense.
In my Bible they are stated in the present tense....proving, it pays to get the correct Bible.

Ooops, you’re right. That was supposed to be John 1:13 not 1 John 1. My bad. I have no idea why I put the 1 in front of that. My Bible is ok it was me what done bad.
BTW In most instances when ever I post scripture or something about scripture I use all versions and also check the Greek original.
