Vladimir Putin sought to cast Russia as the moral arbiter of the world on Thursday, as he hit out at Americas non-traditional values and its influence across the world. In an annual state of the nation address, the 61-year-old Russian president said his country did not aspire to be some kind of superpower. We do not infringe on anyones interests, we do not force our patronage on anyone, or try to teach anyone how to live, he said. His comments amounted to an oblique rebuttal to the growing international movement against Russias restrictive laws on homosexuality. ... Mr Putin defended his governments increasingly conservative values and decried the review of norms of morality in the West and elsewhere.
This destruction of traditional values from above not only entails negative consequences for society, but is also inherently anti-democratic because it is based on an abstract notion and runs counter to the will of the majority of people, Mr Putin said, adding there could be no benefit for society for treating good and evil equally. In his 70-minute televised speech from an ornate Kremlin hall, Mr Putin said traditional family values where a bulwark against so-called tolerance genderless and infertile. Critics of the speech were quick to point that post-Soviet Russia has seen a deep and damaging decline in its birth rates to among the lowest of any developed nation....

Valid point, fits the Negro agenda, the homosexual agenda, the Femanazi agenda, the intellectual educational agenda, the socialist agenda, the third world agenda, yeah, I can see why the world hates Putin, why, if he wasn't a Communist, think of the trouble he could cause.
More Christian than the SCOTUS and the ACLU.
Nazi felt superior as a traditional ueber race, Leninists because they fantasized about being a progressed advance race, but we Americans because we are gay...
Putin is ridiculing the West.
“Moral compass of the world” might be, ahem, a bit grandiose on Putin’s part, but America certainly seems to be in a mad dash to be the moral cesspit of the world.
The way America is diving headlong into depravity and evil, it does make for a startling reversal of the old dichotomy of the cold war days. Putin at least seems quite cognizant of taking his country in the direction of long-term survival, while America sinks down the rat-hole of perversion and dysfunction. Never would have predicted it a few short years ago, but it does now look likely that Russia will outlast America.
I don,t know if they are or not but at least they don,t have a president that supports same sex marriage.
The world is truly up side down.

U.S. going the way of Gomorrah. Sad.
Obama and his policies are making it very easy for Putin to claim this.
Agreed!!
It’s primarily “upside down” because of the downside this country has elected.
“Just like Iran has no queers.”
KGB Putin's revanchist Neo-Soviet Russia invaded the nation of Georgia and ethnically cleansed thousands of innocent Christian civilians. Putin is a genocidal mass-murderer of women and children. Putin does not think the extermination of Georgians is infringing on "anyone" because he does not consider Georgians to be human beings.
Putin has no morality and he serves his master Satan the Devil.
Upside down and inside out.
Why doesn’t he admit that much of the subversion of the west into a sewer is Russia’s fault???
Best comment yet, but Russia has more crimes in its past.
According to this Russias abortion rate has declined steeply from the unreal numbers in the early 90s. But I still think it is high as compared to the US. There where around 42 abortions per 100 live births in 2012 Russia, in 2003 USA there were 24 from what I have found, which supports your idea. It could be that they are just using better birth control now, I suppose. Does anyone know if there is an official Russian Orthodox position on birth control within marriage? I have heard different things from posters on here before.
So, in 2012 there were about 42 abortions per 100 live births, not 130. The last time the number of abortions exceeded the number of births by 30% or more was in 2002. Additionally, rather than representing the most grisly statistic the world has ever seen, an abortion rate 30% larger than the birth rate was actually a huge improvement from rates that prevailed in the early 1990s
According to this, there was a peak of something like 280 abortions per 100 live births in the early 90s.

It’s a little less centralized than the Vatican, so I’m not pulling anything up on just a quick search. There are pages on just general Orthodox tenets, Greek in particular, which condemn abortion as a grave sin.
Here is a good link though. I doubt this man would say such things without the consent of the church at large.
I am glad that there are representatives of different generations, social strata and spiritually ready to stand up for Holy Russia. Orthodoxy - not only prayer but also a civil action, as mentioned by Patriarch Kirill - we need to pray, think and act, to live in [a] Russia where abortion is morally unacceptable, Fr. Chaplin said.
Like you say, Russia still has a real problem with abortion, but it is trying to improve. They need to, or they are in real demographic trouble. If memory serves, the woman who introduced the homosexual propaganda law is now trying to introduce legislation similar to Texas’, where they put medical restrictions on clinics
