Ping
because fraud teaches a lesson
here is another experiment
Nobody give no money at all to the church, give it all the homeless.
The problem here is that most of the folks here who look like that and have the little sign are professional beggars and scam artists.
We don’t get too many homeless in my little town but I did find a guy passing through on his bicycle last winter. He was looking for a warm place to be for the night.
I wasn’t going to invite him home but I did buy him a hot sandwich at the party store and stood inside and talked to the cashier while he ate it. I showed him on a map the quickest way to get to town where there are homeless shelters. It probably took him an hour to get to town.
Looks like the Bishop did a bit of reading. It’s exactly what the character in “What Would Jesus Do” (the book that prompted the movement) did.
WHOA!!! says I; HERE's the REAL story!!!
But then it became obvious it was just a transcription error.
I sure don't agree with MORMON theology (heck; lots of it don't agree with itself!!!) but this bishop is to be praised for delivering a very good object lesson!
Yeah, this Mormon bishop did a little bit of reading...but numerous articles showed Pastor Jeremiah Steepek doing this earlier this year...and it probably wasn't original with Pastor Steepek either:
Food for thought: Pastor who dressed like a homeless person
Of course, we don't see the Mormons give proper attribution for such idea-borrowing.
But, hey, the Mormons have borrowed over 50% of their hymns from Christian leaders, Christian music leaders, etc. -- without usual prominent attribution there, either.
Their missionaries go out & tell the world that the Christian world is "apostate" -- all as they sit in their wards & see hymns written by so-called "apostates." (Go figure)
I really couldn’t care less. Certainly not enough to obsess enough to post about it and only it day after day after day.
People who do that have serious mental issues.
Found a nice red head mother and daughter in my town 2 winters ago...stranded..husband in hospital..no money no place to stay...not drugies....not drinkers....from a small town down south.....at the time I didnt have a house either...and the place I was staying had no room....they were too proud to even get in my car or let me pay for anything....several blocks from my church so I sent them there......a huge heated building.....a church that professes to support all kinds of sorry ass people from OTHER countries.....whouldnt let them in and wouldnt..put them up......they were too nervous and wouldnt let me put them up for the night.............and the church said there was nothing they could do.......Thats not MY church anymore....
The whole thing still p-isses me off.uppity snotty religious BUSINESS MEN....WORRIED ABOUT THE CHURCH
REPUTATION...and the mother -daughter wouldnt take help from a strange male.....Wonder why the churches are failing?
Maybe FRAUD is the reason?
Jesus might have froze to death in my town.
....SURE....Those who accuse others of having "mental issues" certainly seem to believe they are called upon to criticize the posting history of others...that sounds like "arrogance issues" to me....and to "care less" rings false when they could easily avoid clicking on this thread.
I find the fact that this particular congregation actively shunned this bishop and ordered him to leave while the 80,000 mormon missionaries are actively trespassing on the properties of thousands and expecting to be welcomed to spread their propaganda to complete strangers.
From the leaders on down, this militant missionary program is of great pride to the mormon church.
You KNOW we get Sunday OFF!!

MormonDude(Do you WANT me to post the Rules??)
This seems a bit, shall we say, judgemental...
But it's probably just because you care so much.
Sadly; our ‘reputation’ is a valued thing.
Some folks can only see one side of it.
Jesus caught hell from the ‘good’ folks about His associates as well...
