I am sorry to say that most of the blame does rest on the state of public school education. The students are just not taught composition and grammar the way my generation was. It is truly dreadful.

Sadly, it is the case that the teachers themselves often are unsure of correct usage. Sometimes, I suspect, they are too lazy to assign the writing of a composition because it is very time consuming to read and correct a stack of such assignments.

Thank you for writing. It seems extraordinary that it could be so widespread, and not be caught on exams. To me, it’s the written equivalent of walking aound with one’s fly unzipped or brassiere strap hanging out.

I never finish High school.I got pregnant after Sophomore year.Married my sweetheart at 16.Had 6 children .I think I should just slit my writs for this but I am a bad speller.I do Catholic TV and Radio but they never asked me to spell.i was just wondering if the Catholic’s lived after the Statue was broken.Nice Catholic forum.:)Smell some Trolls.
