A Body of Divinity by Thomas Watson
A Believers Privilege At Death
'For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Phil 1: 21.
Hope is a Christian's anchor, which he casts within the veil. 'Rejoicing in hope.' Rom 12: 12. A Christians hope is not in this life, but he 'hash hope in his death. Prov 14: 32. The best of a saints comfort begins when his life ends; but the wicked have all their heaven here. 'Woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Luke 6: 24. You may make your acquittance, and write 'Received in full payment.' 'Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things.' Luke 16: 25. But a saint's happiness is in reversion. 'The righteous has hope in his death.' God keeps the best wine till last. If Cato, the heathen, said, 'To me to die is gain: he saw mortality to be a mercy: what, then, may a believer say! 'The day of death is better than the day of ones birth. Eccl 7: 1: A queen of this land said she preferred her coffin before her cradle.

You could at least come up with something different to post instead of this same old tired image.
It truly grieves me that your ears are so stopped up and your minds so closed and your hearts so dead.
Wonder what could have been if someone had ministered and witnessed to you long before this forum did it’s damage to you.
Very heartbreaking...especially as you’ve no idea of the eternal consequences of your scoffing.
Well, I am truly sorry you will not listen.
God wants none to perish but you simply will not be budged.
Remember me on the last day and remember that I did speak truth.
Sweet and child-like sight. :)
Thanks for sharing.
Is this another guy that's going to hell?
What do you do when you sin?
You speak truth?
According to what authority?? Yours? Is this YOPIOS?? Your Own Private Interpretation of Scripture?
Thomas Watson — just his own opinions. Now authority behind his statements.

What do you do when you sin?
Those fun luvin’ Puritans, paragons of virtue all!
You didnt answer his question. Which group will you be in?
You bore me. Pagans and heretics have that affect. And, not that it matters, I did answer. Your inability to process simple english is your problem, not mine.
Acts 15:8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. 9 He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts.
So? What do you do when you sin?
If I thought you truly wanted to know, I’d tell you....but you don’t. Your mind and heart are not open.
I just want to let both of you know that I will no longer read or reply to your posts.
This is becoming incredibly heartbreaking to me. I’ll leave you with the testimony of a man who was Roman Catholic, who God led into the spirit of truth. I hope you will listen to him and reflect on what he says.

And perhaps you will also read my post titled The Eye of Faith and read how God has worked in my life...even down to the smallest of things. God is truly an awesome God.
I leave you now.
Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.
“Your mind and heart are not open.”
Mindreading is both against the rules of this site and the basics of the faith you claim to follow.
“I just want to let both of you know that I will no longer read or reply to your posts.”
Darn. As if you have been so far.
As for the words of heretics, pagans and liars - well, no thanks.
2 Corinthians 1:22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
2 Corinthians 5:5 He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
Ephesians 1:13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Romans 8:38-39 say, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Nothing can separate a child of God from their Father.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Romans 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life." (John 5:24)
Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

...and yet you despise church, you mock Easter, Christmas and Lent and quote Holy Writ with the apperant intent to lead people away from their beliefs. Odd. And boring.
