Brooke Stephanie Wells, 11, pictured here at Legoland in August, 2013, is now classified as a Missing Person after her mother, Sandi Wells, allegedly abducted the child aka "Kanani" who'd just begun 6th grade at La Costa Heights elementary school in Carlsbad, CA.
Sandi Wells suffers from terminal Amyloidosis, a rare degenerative bone marrow disease, and survived a stem cell transplant and other procedures over three years ago in 2010.

Thanks again,

Prayers for this beautiful girl.
Sounds like a custody dispute to me. What do the court orders say about custody and visitation?
The girl’s mother “kidnapped” her from the State?
From the site, I’m guessing custody dispute and the mother took her?
Prayers for Brooke, and for you. It sounds so hard.
I find it interesting that if you look up on The National Center For Missing And Exploited Children, There is no Brooke listed from the state of California... And wouldn’t an amber alert already have been posted... If she left Friday, they wouldn’t have waited three days to post one.. Check the facts people, sounds like something more is up than what is being given. With that being said, I hope the child is safe.

I don’t wish to add to your difficulties if I am mistaken, but this post is a bit deceptive.
There currently is no Amber alert on this child. Is there a custody agreement that is being violated? Is the child your daughter who was living with you?
The link you provided goes to a site with a page about Sandi (who I am assuming is the abductor/mother)and her disease. The latest update does tell a long rambling sort of incoherent(again I understand if you are upset) tale about ADD diagnosis obtained without your knowledge, suicide teachings by mother, lots of crazy stuff, but no mention of who is custodial parent, divorce etc.
Just very strange story, not enough to go on to determine who is actually supposed to have the child or not.

Hi folks,
Correct - the title of the post is PENDING.
The case in question potentially (now obviously) involves custody dispute and separation issues - at this time the child was living with both (married) parents. Currently the child is at large with the mother who had previously intimated she would indeed abduct the child and, days before, stated she was taking the child to “meet my new Pastor”.
The NCMEC has registered & advised to begin circulating this information IMMEDIATELY
Thanks for your insightful thoughts & consideration!
Steven W.
BTW - the (CaringBridge) site where the post is linked was prepared in 2010 before the child’s mother had a stem cell transplant. The purpose of the site was to provide a recorded history of a patient with a rare terminal disease and the experience of thus having a stem cell transplant, particularly for other future patients and their families to consider when contemplating these kinds of life & death issues. It’s now also a matter of events that these issues are very complex and introduce a number of touchy ethical decision points - when man extends life beyond that God and nature has already sought or dealt - what is the result? It’s a difficult question + concept to deal with.
Thanks again,
Steven W.
sounds like you hit the nail on the head to me.
There is a very strange vibe around this situation. Did you read the page in question? Very strange. Raises many questions, to me.
Around here, they won’t issue Amber Alerts in custody disputes unless there is strong evidence that the child is in danger. Things may be different in California.
Everyone needs to lawyer up at this point.
Hi folks,
Thanks again for the opportunity to make this post & your thoughts + consideration.
These actions have just led the mother to identify the location of the child and report accordingly, so now an order may be served to retrieve the child!
Moderator please update the title of the post accordingly.
Thanks much again,
Steven W.
