Have head that tomorrow, September 8, parish priests, on order from their dioceses, will give homilies that unabashadly advocate amnesty for illegal aliens, that is, support the Obama administration's policy in this area. Last week's homily was, in my church, a taste of this; the priest worked (snuck?) the subject of immigration and immigrants into the homily. Since I've returned to the faith from a somewhat lapsed status over 4 years ago, I've endeavored not to miss any days of obligation. But I remember way back in 1982 when a priest gave an over-the-top homily supporting the nuclear "freeze" movement. I do not want to ever sit through something like that again. If I do, I will simply get up and walk out of church.
I'd like to hear your explanation of what the motivation is for protestant clans who enable and condone illegal aliens.

You quite obviously don't understand the ministerial Priesthood of the ordained.
Father, I have a special group of friends who want to come to church on Sunday and have services with us every Sunday when we do in this church. They also want to take communion when when do. They are Baptist Father. They want to come to church at our church even though they have no intention of becoming Catholic nor adapting to the laws and teachings of the church. They want to be Baptist Catholics and want church laws written to accomidate them.
Father, is this not the House of The Lord and everyone is welcome to enter and worship? Then why can not my friends come in and worship with us in the way they please and by their customs and laws inside our church during our services?
I can imagine his response would be church law forbids this. I would remind him U.S. law forbids illegal entry or fraudulent entry to the United States and that most who came here in previous generations did not come here to be what they left behind. Rather when one comes to the U.S. tho stay they come to be an American and abide in our laws and customs. Just as a person enters a Catholic Church and ask to join they should follow the church laws and stop being Baptist at that point. Should they not follow the rules and laws?
A solution written by a Baptist :>} Seriously though if it violates your conscience to go I simply would not go. Attend two services next week instead. Or use your church time this week to visit the sick etc.
In my home town in Missouri there is a very small Catholic community and they no longer have a full time priest. They share one with several other very small towns and so only have Mass once or twice a month.
Thanks for the clarification, but there are many communities that are too small to support a full time priest. I thought that was your case.
I can still pray for you though:)
Illegals...seize their property and deport them.
Troll is the right word here miss marmelstein
Best thing is to ignore them, they are obstinate in their hate.
My priest will call for amnesty in one sermon and preach against abortion and same sex marriage in another.
Go and stand up and speak out against rewarding bad behavior.
Sounds like your faith was pretty weak to begin with. I'd bet you saw that homily as just a convenient catalyst to pull the rip cord.
Gutsy kid! How disappointing to return to your old ‘hood and see the dramatic change.
I don’t really know how I got caught up in all this hate, lol! I just commented on the skeleton relics and before I knew it the flying monkeys were all over the place. I’m now in their target range. (Of course, I did say something rather rude which got me in trouble but what the hell). I can’t wait to get back to talking about Syria and all the easy stuff.
Exactly right. Those dang Catholics simply don’t believe in the bible.
Or suggest to your priest that he take his business to Mexico, maybe be a missionary if his conscience so prompts him. I don't know why more Catholics who are so hot for the drug cartels to move their business north of the border don't just move their churches *south*!!
Actually, we walked out several times and ultimately left the Church permanently as a result. Not proud of that fact and consider it a regretted mistake, BTW. Should have stayed and stood our ground.
The same group were also militant supporters of illegal aliens, FWIW.
We don’t hire illegals at work and every one is very well compensated, thank you.
LOL
I understand about the rude comment. I actually behaved pretty well up until a couple of months ago. I am now trying to fly under the radar where the flying monkeys (BTW, great way to describe them) are concerned.
It didn’t happen at my church tonight. The homily was on the Gospel.
After a while, their personal charm does sort of wear off, doesn’t it?
