I asked a simple yes or now question: Should the Pope as the leader of approximately 12. billion Catholics be afforded the same protection as other World leaders?

I'll respond with three questions for you which should answer yours.

Should the Pope as the leader of the Catholics be dependent on God for his protection so he would be more like Jesus??? Is he not depending on the same God as the three men in the fiery furnace or with Daniel in the lion's den? Or, is the Roman Catholic god not up to the task?

Romans 8"31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

It’s not like they can’t get a NEW pope real quickly.

And pressing matters of the world REALLY aren’t in his job description.

Come on...

Just what would the RCC lose by NOT having a pope?

The theological questions are handled by a majority vote of the Magisterium anyhow, and SURELY the mundane things of the church could be handled quite easily by those who do them now!

History has shown that a BAD pope could come along - giving the church a new black eye; so why take THAT chance?
