It takes more than prayers...
I was married once before where we were both too young to make it work as it should. When my second wife and I met, she had raised 2 wonderful young girls for about six years after her a.h. husband bailed on her. I wanted to adopt them and their stupid sperm father agreed because he wanted to stop paying child support. I was the newby in the house and you can imagine the conflict that occurred. Both of the girls had been kept away from the a.h. father and one of them even wanted to call me dad even before we were married. But, remember when you introduce a new person into an existing family circle, it can still be pretty rugged and unpredictible. My wife and I have been married now for 35 years and yet we still suffer occasional battles over relationships with her two daughters and the contrast with how we better deal with each other with our son, who was a loving product of our marriage.

Don’t forget - many kids throw off their faith as they leave home, only to return when they get a clearer picture of life. If they are raised to know the Lord, deep will call to deep. Will pray.

Praying for both. As adoptive parents now in our 70’s I can identify well with this man.

We are raising what was a troubled grandson who is doing much better but spent a year and a half in a Boy’s Center.
All we can do is our best. It’s God’s power that can change the heart.
The sermon at church today was preached by a once very troubled boy who was tossed onto the street at 13 years of age. Loving people took him in and nurtured him through the anger and he because the President of Asbury University. Amazing man!!
