Interesting. Just describing the practices of Rome and it defines what they are and their intentions. We can pity them for their being in it but their willful disobedience will not be forgiven. They adamantly refuse to ‘hear and obey’ - which is God’s will - and after years being taught what it is. Pride is their downfall, much like their master. The rotten apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and they ate it.
