Due to a perceived slight against homosexuality, Senior Master Sgt. Phillip Monk is in a fight for his career. The Lackland Air Force base first sergeant was told by his commanding officer to clear out his office on Aug. 9. The point of contention reportedly is not about anything Monk said, but what he refused to say.
"It's all because he didn't say anything wrong. He thought it," said Steven Branson, pastor of Village Parkway Baptist Church in San Antonio. Monk, his wife and their three teenage sons faithfully attend services each Sunday the pastor said.
Branson said he has been in touch with Monk since the sergeant told him Sunday (Aug. 11) of the untenable situation. The pastor said Monk feels abandoned by the institution he has served for 19 years. Deployed as a medic, Monk devoted himself to saving the lives of his fellow service men and women, according to his pastor.
"Now I'm in trouble," Monk told Branson, "and everybody's leaving me behind."

“Crimethink” - wasn’t this defined in Orwell’s “1984”?
There was a time when merely by holding your tongue and committing nothing to paper, there was no way you could be charged with any form of slander or libel. Now, of course, minds may be readily read, much like the NSA listening in on thought waves as well as radio transmissions.
The Thought Police have won an immense victory here. The criminals now may be detected by the merest of inflections or unconscious tics.
Sounds like she was sexually harassing the man, sex has no place in the military, or lesbo’s don’t have what it takes to command men. Never use to bother me, now its starting to pi$$ me off. That female doesn’t have what it takes to command, just to spout off about homosexually. Ain’t none of her business what he thinks, only what he does....
And the Catholics.
The Catholics will hate the sin but love the sinner. And I would think that is what this person (Monk) would say too.
He’s welcome to come to the Catholic Church any day.
This is the problem with the existence of “hate crime” legislation.
THINKING something is NOT the same as DOING something.
If I murder you, I am DOING something, and ought to be prosecuted...it does not matter if I murder you because you have something I want, or because you are have a certain color of skin, or because you cut me off in traffic....MURDER is wrong no matter WHO the victim is and no matter the motive.
What “hate crime” thinking does is add on a penalty, and indeed make it a crime to THINK something about a person—it is an attempt to criminalize thought...and that is Orwellian.
I know most of us here on FR realize that, but in case there are lurkers, noobs, or even trolls here that don’t realize the danger they’re creating by supporting such notions as “hate crime”, I want them to know.
You know the 50 shades of trouble you'd be in if you said that now...
When the Supervisors etc were getting in trouble for compliments as well as innuendos, I just took the tack of NOT speaking to anyone in the office - Unless I was spoken to first. Wasnt to hard for me as I didnt work in the office but I was a General Superintendent in the field and spent a lot of time in the office. So now I am saying NOTHING, if you said Good Morning, I would respond, if you asked me a question, I would politely answer it. NO comments on the weather, work, life etc etc...
You can't be too careful. Nuking it from orbit is the only way to be sure.
Word came down they thought I was creating hostile environment so I just didnt come to the office till after everyone left or before they came in. If the owners beckoned me to the office, I would invite him(them) to lunch.
I don't know what the lunch part means, but they can't be too surprised when you decide to make yourself scarce. They created the environment that is hostile to you. All you have to do is remind them of the good times that could be had with a return to your more gregarious ways (in a "non-threatening" manner, of course).
It's just a matter of time. I feel for my white European race & I despise them also for sitting on their arses & allowing to be run over by every minority group. Let's have a jihad against any of these fools that belittle a christian.
Amen, brother!
We don’t!
Refused to participate in the Two Minutes of Hate (against Christians and conservatives), did he?
Thought crimes here here, now, today... It will only become worse.
LOL....me too.
Come on over, rlmorel!
We are happy to have you!
“The Catholics will hate the sin but love the sinner.”
Catholics don’t have a lock on this.
Here is the progressive play (I heard about this 15 years ago,in a program of teachers and school advocates, talking about graduation requirements) A person must prove a competency, in the area of : Tolerance of Homosexuality.
That means you no longer have the right to remain silent, because you have to prove that you are tolerant.
Watch for that concept to hit all areas where people are receiving money, funding, pay, support, funding from the federal government.
It will be: Conform or die.
As more and more queers rise to positions or command or in administrative positions, things are going to get ugly. These people are nasty evil deceitful people and will go to great lengths to get revenge for perceived slights. The queer commander is pursuing this because she believes the first sergeant thinks that she is less than but she doesn’t have any proof. The one thing that the queers can’t order or legislate is acceptance. If I would have been the first sergeant I would have been arranging my transfer from the get go knowing that this type of episode would eventually occur .... there is probably some queer female first sergeant that would love to serve under her.
Agreed. I am not anti-Catholic, even though I have a couple of personal reasons I might be, it just didn’t feel right as I got older. There are a lot of good clergy and followers in the Catholic church.
I think the Baptists could say the same...I feel that I can. I can feel compassion for homosexuals without feeling the hate, if they really did want to find God. Well I guess even if they don’t, I should feel the same way, but it is hard for me sometimes.
As soon as the Supreme Court made that horrific 5-4 decision, the homosexuals have gone on a rampage. Do you remember when they "just wanted to be left alone?" Well, they never wanted that - they wanted applause for their sin, and to "pay back" anyone who ever reminded them that God is alive, and His Word is the ultimate authority.
Moreover, lesbians like his commander have surely been in the military for 20-25+ years to be of the rank of Colonel or above. Do you know what they did when they first joined the military?
They lied!
Homosexuality was not permitted, and the US military used to flat out ask you before you enlisted, enrolled in ROTC, were commissioned, or entered the service academy.
So we have a bunch of lying perverts running around in positions of authority. It is akin to Hitler's SA.
Hungover Hagel is furloughing nurses at Walter Reed and mechanics at Marine bases, but he just can't wait to dole out Millions of dollars to "spouses" of homosexuals.
“The queer commander is pursuing this”
Remember, evil, not stupid. She knows this man is a Christian and a Baptist and that his church teaches that homosexuality is sinful. This is unconstitutional to discipline the man for his religion.

Exactly so. You’re spot on here. It’s not about ‘equality’. It’s about payback - now she’s in a position as his superior she can repay others for her pain and suffering and believes she can get away with this.
