Ps the Jewish Church worships on the first day of the Week (Saturday), the Sabbath, which you are to observe
my friend, the sabbath is the 7th day of the week or saturday in our calendar. Sunday is the first day of the week.
Christians do not keep the Sabbath, since Jesus fulfilled the law and kept it perfectly on our behalf. He is our Sabbath, we rest in Him. We are under the new Covenant of grace, instituted in the blood of Christ.
Christians, from the Apostolic Tradition, gather together to worship on the first day of the week, since this is the day that Jesus rose from the dead. To keep the Sabbath after Jesus went to the cross, is a denial that the law has been fulfilled. The only law that Christians are under is the law of love.
So that explains why Catholics think they can behave however they want to, and still be called a Child of God.
Because they are told they can do whatever they want. You are not under the law of the commandments? wow.. You never have to correct your behavior, you can sin as much as you please?
And you still go to Heaven? Free salvation?
That is incredible.
And, more importantly, SABBATH keeping is part of the LAW - the CONTRACT (covenant) GOD made with ONE specific group of people, the Chosen Ones - the Jews.
You'll find NO mention of it at all in the letter sent to the Gentiles described in Acts chapter fifteen.
Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.
