Those are great lyrics, but I the music doesn't float my boat. As far as I'm concerned, the last hymns with good music were Carolyn Freeman's "Back of the Clouds" (1931), John Vanderhoven's "By the Sea of Crystal" (1933), Bertha Lillenas' "Jesus is Always There" (1934), and Ethelwyn Taylor's "Calvary Covers It All" (1934).

The music is far better than modern praise and worship. They are quite serious composers dedicated to accurate lyrics.

We need more like them.
