If President Eisenhower were alive today, the five-star general may be shocked to know that his own speeches are too offensive to be quoted in the military he used to command. A military chaplain has been taken to task for fulfilling the job description that most spiritual leaders (until recently) were hired to do: talk about faith. In a harmless post for his online website, "Chaplain's Corner," Lt. Col. Kenneth Reyes (USAF) of the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska wrote an inspirational piece called, "No Atheists in Foxholes: Chaplains Gave All in World War II." The phrase, which President Eisenhower made famous in 1954, dates way back to the Japanese attack at Corregidor. Reyes had hoped to encourage his troops believers and non-believers with the brave story of the man who first coined the quote.

Ike would be kicked out of today’s military for what he said.
Sometimes it seems not worth living in this world anymore. Sigh.
I was just thinking about Patton. He was both very un-PC but somewhat of a religious fanatic even if a bit of an oddball one.
It is the beginning of the de-Christianization of the Armed Forces. Also, the “DoD” has withdrawn its permission for the PX/BX/NAVEX to sell bibles imprinted with the Army, Navy, USAF, & Marines seals and for the company that makes them to use the seals because they are copyrighted. This announcement came out shortly after SecDef Hagel declared the July as the ‘glbtg—whatever’ month to ‘celebrate’ homosexuals in the military.
How is recruitment these days??
If Ike were alive today, he’d probably turn the military loose — on Washington DC.
Their fashion sense and self-absorption will be completely useless in war. The only thing that the ‘new military’ will be capable of is slaughtering unarmed American civilians. Make SURE that your family is ARMED.
When I was born Ike was president. During my lifetime I rank him as #2 of the best presidents in that span but no one even comes close to The Gipper at the top of the heap.
The men and women in the military sacrifice their lives to defend the Bill of Rights and a bunch of Nazi bass turds on Capitol Hill take those rights away from them. Hitler was more honorable than the buffoons on Capitol Hill and those black robed tyrants down at the SCOTUS.
Sounds like a better and better idea every day.
If Maobama and his fellow travellers had their way, there never would’ve been a Patton, an Eisenhower or a MacArthur.
We need a Commander in Chief who is not a damn muslim! Once we get that, we can put America back “under GOD” again.
This is SO TRUE!He actually called on GOD ALMIGHTY!!Imagine that???
If I’m not mistaken, during World War II every member of the U.S. military was given a Bible, and I think the Bibles were Goverment Issue.
FGS, didn't FDR give Christmastime "fireside chats" and symbolically "turn the lights on" at that Cross in San Fran?
What a world.
You could take a staunch, ultra-liberal democrat who died in 1962 and transport him to 2013, and he'd never stop puking over what America has become and tolerated.
During WWII Churchill and FDR met on the HMS Prince of Wales for an Atlantic conference.
On Sunday they attended religious services on board the ship. Churchill selected the hymns. One of them was “Onward Christian Soldiers”. I have seen old film of the service and both Churchill and FDR were singing along with the men.
Churchill later remarked that less than a year later, most of those young sailors would be dead.
The real question that needs.to be asked is: “is America worth saving?” I would have to answer ... No.
True...I have my Dad’s.
