Georgetown to Cover Contraception, Sandra Fluke Declares Victory
Cardinal Newman Society ^ | 7/19/13 | Matthew Archbold

Georgetown University’s health insurance will cover contraception starting next month for students, faculty, and staff.

The announcement came in the form of a blast email to the entire campus from university president John DeGioia, indicating that because the Affordable Care Act requires that all insurance policies cover contraceptives (including abortifacients and sterilization procedures), all students, faculty, and staff will have that coverage, which goes into effect August 15th. Wrote DeGioia:

These regulations give us the opportunity to reconcile our religious identity and our commitment to providing access to affordable health care. Under the framework established by the Administration, the University’s insurance companies will cover the costs of contraceptive services for Georgetown faculty, staff and students who opt to use them, regardless of which health care plan each person has. We will continue to provide our community with access to affordable health care options, and women will have access to contraceptives at no cost to them or to the University.

According to The Hoya, students will still not be able to acquire contraception at the clinic on campus but they will be able to acquire contraception through the university’s insurance policy off campus.

The regulations from the Obama administration require insurance companies themselves to pay directly for contraceptive services for employees and students of non-profit organizations, like Georgetown, that oppose providing coverage for contraceptive services on religious grounds.

Gee, all they’re asking is to burn a little pinch of incense in front of the divine emperor’s image. Your god won’t even notice.

“wasn’t Georgetown one of the schools that agreed to cover up its Christian “identity symbols” when O went there”

Yes you are quite right. That they acquiesced to anyone’s demand in this regard is disgraceful. It is their shame.

Georgetown cannot be considered a “Catholic” university anymore. Wonder why they even wanted to?

When will people realize that abortion is NOT “health care”? It is the hired killing of the unborn - destructive to its health and potentially the mother’s as well.

Protesters Question Clergyman’s Loyalty
At Archbishop Jose Gomez Residence

Dozens of protesters have shown up at Archbishop of Los Angelus Jose Gomez residence many carrying American flags and bearing signs questioning his loyalty to the US not Mexico along with many signs demanding equal rights for American citizens in Mexico.

The protest was apparently triggered by the clerics decision to push forward with his predecessors decision the disgraced Cardinal Mahoney with offering amnesty thus citizenship to Mexicans crossing the border illegally while thousands of Americans in Mexico suffer under 2nd class citizenship unable to own property and suffer indignitys let alone participate in Mexican elections while living there in Mexico.

A spokeswoman for the group, Harriet Hildegarden insisted her group consists of Catholics loyal to the church. “We will be protesting at other locations where prominent clergy of the church have sided with the Obama regime”Hildy” claims the church is supporting the democrat party which denied God at their convention and declared what she claims is war on the Catholics but would collude with i t on many issues including “amnesty” .

When asked if she may be denied communion for her activities her reply was “Well it’s been known that when that happens quicker when clerics get personally attacked than when some politican challanges the church on the grounds of faith and morals” . You didn’t hear much from them (the bishops) about the Gosnell baby murderer trial. Now that it’s winding up perhaps the bishops might call a “conference” next year but they sure acted swiftly when it comes to allowing this country resigning its soverign rights new parishioners.

yeah. The catholic hospitals boards said the same thing.

The camel’s nose in the tent, but they will go along because supporting OBama is more important than obeying the church.

Will they also cover STD treatment?

Will their insurance cover being sued for promoting the spread of STD's?

Will they switch to being a Unitarian-Universalist or Baha'i university after the Pope gives them a swift kick?

These regulations give us the opportunity to reconcile our religious identity and our commitment to providing access to affordable health care.

Only a consummate liar or a complete idiot could make a statement like that...or perhaps a liberal university president. He forgot to add, ..."and to insuring that a 'good time' was had by all while attending Georgetown University. We owe this reconciliation and enlightenment to that supreme example of 'good time girls', Sandra Fluke!"

the Bishop should quietly tell Georgetown to shape up or ship out....

Quietly tell? Really?

This would be more appripriate.

I hope they have good coverage for the treatment of STDs as Sandra Fluke may have more need for that than contraception.
