The senior pastor at Seattles Mt. Zion Baptist Church told followers to raise Cain in response to Saturdays acquittal of George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida.
Zimmerman was accused of shooting 17-year-old Trayvon Martin to death nearly a year-and-a-half ago. His defense was Floridas Stand Your Ground law.
In his morning sermon, Rev. Aaron Williams said it was important for the African-American community to not allow this to die down and to highlight perceived injustice within the nations criminal justice system.
We should be raising Cain because if we dont, Rev. Williams said, history has a way of repeating itself.
There will be other young men who are pushed through the pipeline prison system if we dont raise Cain, he continued. There will be other issues of injustice in our society of we dont raise Cain.
Stating that God has the final word, Rev. Williams also preached calm and peace during protests of the controversial verdict.
A rally was scheduled Sunday at 6 p.m. against the Florida jurys decision.

No, his defense was not the stand your ground law. The media is hopeless.I think they're doing it on purpose. I expect a renewed jihad against the right to self-defense, and the media will do its usual evil part of misinforming as much of the public as possible.

Fifty years ago Democrats responded with riots whenever there was something they didn't like. Witness the KKK violence and college student burning campus buildings and cars.
No difference today in the behavior. Not much in the participants.

When I was a kid, people went to church for religion. Now, it appears that they are preaching hate.
His defense was Floridas Stand Your Ground law.
This clown needs to stop reading his own news articles. They're bogus and wrong.

He only cares about black people who commit crimes. The innocent ones are not “God’s people” (i.e Satan’s people)

Oh, there most certainly ARE churches in the Seattle area. A few of them actually preach the Word of God instead of social claptrap.

Revoke their tax exempt status. That is what should happen but won’t.

I don't support revoking the tax-exempt status for making comments on political issues, no matter what side or what issue. But I DON'T like politics in church, no matter what side or what issue.

Best not light that fuse, Rev. If nothing else, for the sake of your own church members. Summoning the Devil (”raising Cain”) tends to have significant collateral damage. Historically, the black community has suffered most in the wake of urban riots.
