PS.2: 1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Hillary becomes president.
There’s no lack of discussion and debate over such specific events described in prophecy and how they might play out. We do see in general what happens when people wane in their love of God, and America was so blessed because of its gospel rooted beginnings in spite of its remaining crying flaws.
Possibly many scriptural prophecies won’t be able to be definitively tied to actual events until those events actually play out, but scripture does warn to be on the lookout for them. Love God as hard as you can, trusting His Son to carry your sins away on your behalf, and He will carry you through no matter what the circumstances.
The Rapture happens upon Christs return. There is no period of time that people remain on earth. It all happens at once; believers meet Christ in the clouds and return with him and He destroys the unbelievers.
One certain sign end times would be near:If the USA ever elected an air-headed, bi-sexual, dope crazed, mulatto socialist to the presidency.
Nah - That could never really happen...
Suppose some Freeper wanted to be the next president. The opportunities would be few: either create a new party or somehow convince an ever more hardened GOP that you could mean something.
I’d volunteer to do it if the good Lord put me in such a position. I don’t think He has. But oh boy, if He did, would I do everything I could to sweep Foggy Bottom clean. It is beyond disgusting. It is evil.
It will be the next time I post on FR.
Not exactly universally accepted that way....go to KHouse.org and research some.
I have heard some view it as an event in which the spirits of Christians are lifted drastically. I don’t have the study to say definitively, but I tend to believe the more literal rapture scenario. There are scriptural precedents for such a thing e.g. Enoch, Elijah, and the lifted spirits theory sounds dreadfully subjective to me. Spirits will automatically lift as they are more dedicatedly invested in the Lord.
I’ve researched it alot; there is no Biblical basis that Christ secretly removes believers for 7 years and then comes back again for anyone else. The day of judgement doesn’t even happen until His return; where do all the believers go before judgement?? We ALL get judged on judgement day.
Read the parable of the wheat and the tares. It’s asked if they should remove the tares early and they’re told no, they’ll be separated from the wheat at harvest (Christ’s return) not 7 years before.
the answer is on your evening news.
Have you noticed “Stinky” is massing forces on BOTH sides of Israel now?
Doesn't add up, biblically...Prior to the return of Jesus where all eyes will see him at the battle of Armagheddon, there's a lot of worship and a Wedding taking place in heaven between the Groom and the Bride, the church...
Not going to debate it here, but I’ve studied this at length, absorbing differing scenarios offered by folks more expert than I - and just saying that there are very compelling cases being made by brilliant people for scenarios other than what you are describing - and yet - a case can be made for that too.
The situation may not be that clear cut from our perspective (of course God does have a definite plan). Classical pre-trib rapture posits that there will be more Christians on earth after that, people who became believers through the witness of media left on earth by earlier believers. Not until THAT church is also purified and joined by the earlier saints would the promise of the parable be realized, in that view.
It is certainly a great temptation to get into wrangles over Whose Interpretation Is Right. Dispy pre-trib rapture answers more questions than it leaves open in my humble view, but I don’t want to be dogmatic about it to the detriment of other believers who clearly are believers yet don’t share my particular outlook on eschatology. I believe in the power of God to sort out what’s true and to correct those who err in a gracious and loving manner. (It’s an abomination when the differing camps start to get so worldly and fleshly about it that they tell one another that they are going to hell.)
...don’t forget the Thousand Year Reign too.....and all kinds of interpreations of the 70th week of Daniel....post trib pre trib 3 and half years or 7 years etc......brilliant committed studied Saints are all over the board on this issue.
John 3:16 is critical....everything else is interesting conversation....
I’ve noticed that..Russia also sending warships to the Mediterranean. .Psalm 83 may be close to being fulfilled...If so I do believe it will usher in that world leader, man of lawlessness.
HTR, yep, I agree with that.
SOTC...PING
I certainly don’t recall telling anyone to go to hell, nor would I, but the detriment to believing believers will escape the tribulation is that people will not be prepared and will be at the MERCY of the enemy to survive.
We must strengthen ourselves and prepare for what’s coming, as we will not escape it.
