I am currently reading The Day Satan Called by Bill Scott.... somewhat interesting, but at this point (about a quarter into it) not very well-written or even believable. I'm interested in your opinions or suggestions for non-fictional accounts of demonic possession, Satanism, and the like -- I'm considering Malachi Martin's Hostages of the Devil. I'd also be interested in your thoughts on these topics as they relate to ouija boards, Enneagram charts, or even yoga, as well as any personal experiences you may have with said topics. I'm especially concerned with a Roman Catholic or Orthodox point of view but any Christian viewpoint will be appreciated. Thank you!
I read Hostage to the Devil many years ago. I can't decide whether I feel better educated against evil now having read it, but I'd say its impact at the time on my thinking and spiritual life was more harm than good. Very, very scary stuff, and not edifying. A better book touching on the subject, in my opinion, although not non-fiction, is C.S. Lewis's Perelandra.
You re not going to believe this but someone on a major website read my post and found it.I am posting the link and for the Owner I say thank you:)((((Hugs))))

After our initial series on the priests at SLU who performed the original exorcism aired last fall, I got a phone call from a woman. She said she was a young nursing student at Alexian Brothers Hospital in south St. Louis in the 1970s. The 1949 exorcism of the possessed boy ended at Alexian Brothers
Transcription of diary from the St. Louis exorcism
from the same like in my previous post #186.

These are articles from the KDSK . com web site.
I can vouch no more for these than any other new source.
ps, sorry to the thread readers for my late postings.
I read bout 3yr ago some book i forgot, but they
were trying to locate the boy and came to the conclusion
that there were false leads to throw off reporters etc.
There were supposed to be 3 copies of the journal.
One ea. copy to the family, diocese, ?Alexian brothers?
One journal was found during demolition of the hospital.
The only room in the building that was locked up, still
had everything left in place from ‘49. The contractor
saw the journal and knew what it was about.
Have not heard ,ever , that it was deemed psy problems.
Knew a guy who went to Rockhurst Univ.? in Missouri and
knew Fr. Bowdren .
BTW, 3 yrs ago - you could not find squat about the inside
dope on the exorcism. Something opened the flood gates recently i guess...
Thanks for the info
