Dolan Has Taught Us A Few Important Things

Rockford, Il – (ProLifeCorner.com) – 5-28-2013 – by Rockford Pro-Life Initiative - Cardinal Dolan Has Taught Us A Few Important Things In The Last Few Weeks. In the last few weeks Cardinal Dolan, through his spokesman Joseph Zwilling, has been doing a lot of teaching by word and deed.

His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, has let the Church know pro-abortion New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is a Catholic in good standing. The world has also found out the Archdiocese of New York is paying for abortions and contraception for thousands of its employees. The Cardinals spokesman has rather heartlessly described the abortions and contraception the Archdiocese provides as “services” and excused the Archdiocese paying the bills for these “services” because they write the checks “under protest.” We have many lessons we can learn from these situations. A few of these lessons are listed below:

Cardinal Dolan has taught us you can be a Catholic (Gov. Cuomo) who promotes the unlimited and legal killing of babies by abortion, a Catholic who uses their political power to promote homosexual marriage and you’re still a Catholic in good standing.

Cardinal Dolan has taught us it’s OK to pay for abortions and contraception if you have an excuse.

Cardinal Dolan has set a standard for every Catholic in America to participate in things like the HHS mandate as long as you say you object to doing it.

Cardinal Dolan has taught us that if employees of a Catholic institution demand that the Catholic Church pay to murder their babies – the Church can comply.

Cardinal Dolan has taught every enemy of the Church that Catholics will go along quietly and participate in contraception and abortion programs as long as we say we object to it.

Cardinal Dolan has made null and void Cardinal George’s statement concerning secular forces attacking the Church and our need to be brave,

“I expected to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor willdie a martyr in the public square.” No need now to stand-up for any principles. If Cardinal Dolan, the head of the Bishops Council can pay for abortions and tell us all we have to do is say we object to it, no Catholic need to take a risky stand to defend Christ or life. Cardinal Dolan has taught us we can go along with the culture of death as long as we object to doing it.

Cardinal Dolan has taught the Supreme Court whose members may have seen these situations in the news and will be hearing the HHS mandate cases that it is really no big deal for the head of the USCCB to allow his Archdiocese to pay for abortions and contraception as long as he can publicly say he objects to it.

Cardinal Dolan has taught politicians, voters, the abortion industry, and the media that the Catholic Church will pay for abortions and contraception as long as we can say we object to it.

Cardinal Dolan has taught us that the abuse scandal in the Catholic Church is far from over. While the tragedy of sexual abuse is being dealt with head on we now have been taught by Cardinal Dolan that a Catholic in good standing can support and make possible the murder of babies in the womb and an Archdiocese can even pay for these abortions. The murder of babies in the womb is the ultimate child abuse.

His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan has taught us a lot in the last few weeks.

His eminence, a senior officer in the corporation, made an economic decision to enhance the bottom line of the oldest most profitable mutlinational corporation in the world. It not about the liturgy; it’s about the $$ for the RC church

(1) Pay no attention to this Catholic bashing. (2) No one is perfect. (3) What about Peter? (4) Repeat #1 over and over. (5) He probably voted for the right people so the hypocrisy doesn't count.

Feel free to add to the List.

Dolan heads the US bishops because he equivocates about everything. He’s just what they wanted. Most of the bishops care about nothing but “immigration reform” meaning increased membership and collections. He’s a gas bag, a phony and a liar. The BS that “nobody’s perfect”; “pray for him” and “what about Peter?” is denial. Dolan is a heretic. The American “Catholic” church is schismatic.

I watched The Caine Mutiny with Humphrey Bogart last night. In it, the primary accuser of Captain Quieg lost his nerve when crunch time came. That is how I see Dolan: a man without a pair. He may be a good man, but a man without courage is a man not to be trusted. Contrast that man with all the martyrs of the Church who refused submission to the Empire and emperor.

It not about the liturgy; it’s about the $$ for the RC church

The Catholic Church is the largest charitable organization on the planet, bringing relief and comfort to those in need. Catholic Charities, Food for the Poor, Catholic Relief Services, St. Jude's, and America's Second Harvest alone total $5,570,000,000, which is greater than #1 on the list for America. With God‟s grace, we started hospitals to care for the sick and orphanages to serve the poor. We educate more children than any other scholarly or religious institution. We founded the college (university) system. We defend the dignity of all human life, and uphold marriage and family. Can your church make that claim?

We are living in the era of the greatest heresy since Arianism. Pope Pius X defined it as “Modernism” in his 1907 encyclical “Pascendi Dominici Gregis.” He said that it is the “synthesis of all heresies,” because it denies that God has revealed His will through Sacred Scripture and the Magisterium of the Church - and that it CAN be known. The famous statement, “Well, I don’t believe in abortion, but I would never impose my beliefs on anyone else” is a prime example of this heresy. It seems that Cardinal Dolan is also a prime example of someone who has fallen into this heresy, since by his actions he refuses to call sin what it is. The Ten Commandments are not the Ten Suggestions!

Arianism was eventually overcome by the Church and I know Modernism will be, too. But it took about 100 years to get rid of Arianism, so I would guess it will take the Church a long time to get rid of Modernism - especially since so many people haven’t even heard of it, much less know what it is.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

Nobody made the five bogus points on this threrad except you.

Cardinal Dolan is a disgrace, with one unlawful, unrighteous, un-Christian and unmanly act after another. He needs to be confronted and condemned to his face.

From May 26th NY Times article...

As the nation’s leading Roman Catholic bishop, Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan of New York has been spearheading the fight against a provision of the new health care law that requires employers, including some that are religiously affiliated, to cover birth control in employee health plans.

But even as Cardinal Dolan insists that requiring some religiously affiliated employers to pay for contraception services would be an unprecedented, and intolerable, government intrusion on religious liberty, the archdiocese he heads has quietly been paying for such coverage, albeit reluctantly and indirectly, for thousands of its unionized employees for over a decade.

The Archdiocese of New York has previously acknowledged that some local Catholic institutions offer health insurance plans that include contraceptive drugs to comply with state law; now, it is also acknowledging that the archdiocese’s own money is used to pay for a union health plan that covers contraception and even abortion for workers at its affiliated nursing homes and clinics.

“We provide the services under protest,” said Joseph Zwilling, a spokesman for the Archdiocese of New York.

It’s an old and well used list on FR and you’ve added in fine if not entirely original, form.

His “Eminence” may still be hoping the Romans won’t come and take away his very comfortable place and nation. Too bad about the aborted.

Ted Kennedy taught Catholics all of those things before Dolan did, and no one listened. That's why the lesson is being repeated.

Jack may have been a lib (and a cafeteria Catholic), but back then liberals weren't advocating homosexuality, abortion, and a world totalitarian state to "protect the planet." Even Bobby Kennedy died almost five years before Roe v. Wade and a year before "Stonewall."
