Featured Term (selected at random):
The deliberate withholding of assent to what God has revealed. As commonly understood, there are five principal sins against faith: profession of a false religion, willful doubt, disbelief, or denial of an article of faith, and culpable ignorance of the doctrines of the Catholic Church.
willful doubt,
disbelief,
or denial of an article of faith,
and culpable ignorance of the doctrines of the Catholic Church.
I've seen all these personified in posts on FR. Sad.

I don’t see how disbelief can be a sin, unless it pertains to someone that professed belief at one time, then denied it?
Willful doubt is awfully subjective, isn’t it?
How are these determined?
This sadly reminds me of the “death to infidels” aspects of Islam.
Makes me think of those (in any faith) who read in the Bible that queer sex is wrong but just can’t believe God is so mean. It’s all about their feelings.
Think about these — I’ll give you two examples.
The Virgin Birth by the Holy Spirit. This is in all Bibles in the book of Luke, but many choose to disbelive it.
Sond example, the Real Presence of the Body and Blod of Christ in the bread and the wine. Even though Christ said — in all the Bibles — mind you — “This is my body.” over the bread and “This is my blood” over the wine. Many choose to disbelieve Christ’s words.
**Willful doubt **
What about the willful doubt of some people that there are three persons, a Triune God, in the Trinity?
What about the willful doubt that there really is a Purgatory. Remember a lot of the Bible was removed because it proved that Purgatory was a real place.

That means that for the last 2000+yrs, every person that was unable to believe this, went or is going to hell?
We both know it is easy to say one believes something, but how does one truly believe something one day, that they were unable to believe, the day before?
