There is a small church close by where I live that is just dying to grow. They are having fund raisers weekly, pushing the members to give more and more so they can build a bigger sanctuary. Mind you they don't even come close to filling the one they have.
It seems to me that we put too much emphasis on growth and not enough to fulfilling the mission of preaching the word, in season and out. If we preach the word, numbers will take care of themselves.
