Yes, Virginia. There are conservative, Bible-believing Presbyterians. The PCUSA most definitely does NOT speak for all of us.

This Reformed Baptist gives that resolution a hearty Amen. And I know many faithful Bible-believing Presbyterians, many in my own family are PCA.

Nice statement. However, it’s kinda late in the game as the ship is already sinking.

I’ve attended a Prysbyterian Church most of my life, but have never joined, mostly because of this issue of homosexuals. The churches were Prestyterian U.S.A., which are the only ones in our neighborhood. Some even have lesbian ministers, -those I walk out of.
I think we are fighting a losing battle as this nation becomes more and more currupt and churches become more politically correct. God will have to intervene at his time.

A sure sign from GOD to the Church... A tornado struck and damaged the Central Lutheran Church building as well as the Minneapolis Convention Center. The ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) was holding its annual convention in both places that day. An important vote was scheduled to take place promptly at 2PM on the validation of “chaste” same-sex marriages. Because of the tornado the vote was delayed but passed later that day. Two days later the ELCA voted to allow homosexuals to serve as pastors. photo 1964_steeple_zps05e808ea.jpg

Well, thanks for clarifying, I’ll admit I thought PCA was the old mainline denomination. I remember 35 years ago approximately when 10th Presbyterian in Philadelphia left the mainline over the ordination of women.

Legalistic liberals like to harp on the fact that Jesus didn’t mention homosexuality, but God the Father had long established his view of homosexual offence as “abomination”. Jesus tacitly affirmed this when he explained the origin of marriage in Mark 10 (male and female).

There, the pressing issue was divorce. I’d suggest it still is, as it would be impossible to float the absurd idea of gay “marriage” without the preceding destruction of real marriage. The very idea of marriage is undermined when divorce occurs. Children of divorce are sitting ducks for Satan and his arsenal of false comforts, including homosexuality.

Moses permitted divorce only due the hardness of the people’s hearts, it was never desired by God. That same hardness exists today, and it takes the sexual extreme of homosexuality to rouse such dulled people into a fit of moral indignation. By then, too little/too late.

Applause.

The only question I’d have is why take so long?

This is the difference between going to a “confessional” church where the emphasis is on our sinful nature or going to a church where the emphasis is thinking God will just ignore our sinful behavior because of His love.

I’m glad the PCA still has their act together.
