I am needing to gather information for a paper for my Philosophy course. The information needs to be gathered from other people's thoughts. Could you help me? - What is ultimate reality to you? God? Matter? An impersonal force? Something else? - Is truth absolute or relative? - Are moral values absolute or relative? - Let's go back to ultimate reality. Do you believe in God? If so, why? If not, why not?
The answer is 42
Objective truth is absolute, but our ability to perceive truth is subjective because many things can affect ones’ ability to perceive that truth.
Oh, this is going to be good.
You signed up today just for this?
Cut to the chase on one of them, though - I believe in God because He told me to.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
“What is ultimate reality to you? ... Do you believe in God?”
These are profiling questions.
Just saying.
Good thing, you you may get the Zot Treatment.
I’ve seen this exact question posted at least once, maybe twice, in the past. It’s profiling.
I believe in God for a number of reasons, here are just a couple.
I have been so close to being killed or dying a number of times in my life (car accidents, heart surgery, out of control infections, hospitalized for pneumonia, explosions, being shot at, etc). Surviving those seemingly impossible situations with little or no damage has led me to believe that I am being looked after by God who has camped his angles about me.
I also hold patents in cryptography and as a result of dealing with incredibly large numbers, I understand that random could not possibly account for the DNA code complexity. The code requires the guiding hand of God.
It is hard to beat a sharp cheddar.
“...I’ve come up with only two hard, incontrovertible facts; there is a God, and, I’m not Him.”
Ahh. Beat me to it, Spruce. :)
Ya might cut yourself.
Red, no BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUE!!!
A good Napa chardonnay goes well with ripe pears and an aged Stilton.
Thou Shalt Not Kill! ...too many.
I believe in two realities.
The external reality of physical matter where truth is absolute... water will wet you, fire will burn.
And an internal reality of me and my perceptions of the external.
The battle is to perceive absolute truth through the filter of subjective thoughts and emotions and not delude myself or allow others to delude me.
The existence of an eterna creator God who reveals Himself through both nature and scripture is the primary absolute truth.
