ick Warren’s son has taken his own life. Matthew Warren, 27, had struggled with mental illness before his death.
Evangelist Greg Laurie posted an e-mail the Saddleback Church pastor sent to this staff: “Only those closest knew that he (Matthew) struggled from birth with mental illness, dark holes of depression, and even suicidal thoughts. In spite of America’s best doctors, meds, counselors, and prayers for healing, the torture of mental illness never subsided. Today, after a fun evening together with Kay and me, in a momentary wave of despair at his home, he took his life.” Click here to read a prayer request Rick Warren e-mailed to his staff.
Prayers and condolences are flooding into Warren’s Facebook page. And Laurie also expressed his heartfelt pain over Warren’s loss.

Rick Warren is not one of my favorite Pastors, but I feel very badly for him right now. This has to be a terrible hole in his heart, and he deserves our prayers.
He has my prayers and deepest sympathy. Losing one of your children is horrible no matter what the cause.
Prayers to all concerned. My brother suffered the same thing and sadly took his life too. Those who have seen the likes of these suffer, truly know how blessed they truly are.

Makes me wonder. If all those doctors couldn’t help him it makes me think beyond mere depression. Something more was going on here. It reminds me a bit of that movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Scary and sad.

My condolences to the Warren family. Losing a child is perhaps the worst pain someone can endure.
Oh, this is so sad. So sorry for his loss and for his family. When we see our own children going astray it breaks our hearts but each of God’s children makes his/her own decisions. God bless the Warren family during this time of sorrow.

I read Gods word and that is what I was talking about in my post. The doctors were useless in this case. We are fighting Powers and Principalities and the sooner people recognize that the better we will all be.
This is the second minister’s son I am aware pf that has committed suicide. I also know personally a minister’s daughter that decided to become a minister, did so, then decided she was gay. Minister’s kids are used by satan and his evil minions to torture the ministers.

“Mere” depression can be lethal. Major Depression Disorder is not the blues. It is not something that can be shaken off. It is life threatening and debilitating.

They are most likely celebrating just liek they did with hte death of Tony Snow- They truly are a dispicable lot the left- They hate with a seething vehement hatred of those who are moral, then turn aroudn and lecture us on ‘loving one another’- Just had that happen to me infact on Yahoo news thread- I ju7yst hope their seethign violent hatred doesn’t push htem straight into hell- that they coem to a point where they realize just how hateful they really are- there are none so blind as those that refuse to see like they do
