Does anyone know the story behind Lorenzo Snow marrying a sweet 16 year old girl...?
(Excerpt) Read more at forum.newordermormon.org ...
Are you arguing that polygamy is sanctioned by God?
AS far as polygamy being sanctioned by God i do not claim to know and really do not care either way.
And there is your point, seriously why didn’t you say it.....you apparently beleive polygamy is Biblical even thought you have been shown, I think quite well, here on this thread it is not.
If you wish to defend polygamy as a tenant of mormonism, and it appears that you do, be my guest.
I stand by my statement: polygamy as is mormonism is not Biblical.
And there is your point, seriously why didnt you say it.....you apparently beleive polygamy is Biblical even thought you have been shown, I think quite well, here on this thread it is not.
Im not a Mormon, but I always understood the context of polygamy among the Mormons to be based on the very imbalanced female to male ratio of their early years.
This was thought to be better than the daughters becoming whores and or becoming unwed mothers which is what we have today which can not possibly be any better.
I do have big doubts about God having anything to do with it, except in nature itself.
Huh?
When I read it; she blames GOD!!
The Lord has kept me from having children.
When I read it; she blames GOD!!
Yes
Yes
eye roll
A middle finger salute.
Oh, myyyy.
If I actually cared what you think of me personally I might be offended.
What I care about is this, The Lord God Almighty, and that He is not blasphemed - ever!
mormonism is blasphemy, and your defense of none Biblical precepts is blasphemy.
It is clear: marriage between ONE man and ONE woman is representation of Christ and His church.....
if you choose not to accept that, a
and apparently you chose not too, there is nothing I can do about it,
I can continue to show mormonism for what it is.....
this is a thread about mormonism not your ego.
“Its not biblical huh.”
I’ve already corrected your errors on this. I’m not sure why you continue to make the same uninformed comments about it, over and over again, without bothering to respond to me. This was an argument settled about 2,000 years ago.
Incidentally the one fingered salute in my growing up does not mean any more than what rolling the eye s do.
It is just in fun to me, sorry if it was not to you.
However it is plain that you do not know what you are talking about as far as not being Biblical.
here is my first comment on the subject, and my comment was to Colofornian
Genesis
30
And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.
2
And Jacobs anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in Gods stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
3
And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.
4
And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.
5
And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.
6
And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.
7
And Bilhah Rachels maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son.
8
And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.
9
When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife.
10
And Zilpah Leahs maid bare Jacob a son.
11
And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.
12
And Zilpah Leahs maid bare Jacob a second son.
13
And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.
And your point?
If that is not talking about polygamy then i sure don,t know what it would be called, if you have a problem with it, it is not with me i just copied it from Gods word.
The best way i can see to expose false doctrine is to show the true gospel by living the way Jesus told us to live, the sheep and the goats, do unto others, etc, we are not doing that on this thread
Maybe mostly my fault, i don,t know, but i also do not like false doctrine especially when it is to expose other false doctrine.
You win, you are no longer making any sense.
Ive already corrected your errors on this. Im not sure why you continue to make the same uninformed comments about it, over and over again, without bothering to respond to me. This was an argument settled about 2,000 years ago.
Satan is the great accuser of gods people why are so many people trying to take his place.
And to set you on the right course i do not know if God sanctified Abrahams, and Jacobs and Solomans plural marriages or not,it does not say that much about it.
And you did not correct any errors at all because you don,t seem to even know what the conservation is about, at least on my behalf.
But i tell you what, you just find a scripture that simply states that a man shall only have one wife and i will be with you all the way.
It does plainly state that a bishop or Deacon can only have one wife.
Now would you please get off of my back until you can find something we can discuss with out all of this I know more than you do crap.
I am not very smart so maybe i don,t make much sense, i just know that my lord and savior is Jesus Christ and we are to live by his Gospel and not religion.
and i did not expect mentioning the gospel of Jesus to make any sense to any religious person.
“but there are so many assumptions that must mean this or that depending on what the individual wants it to mean just for the purpose of giving some one else puredee hell.”
This is easy for someone to say who knows nothing about the Bible, but unless you can demonstrate how what I said is false, there’s no reason to accept your assumptions.
And as for your defense of the LDS in general. The scripture is quite clear that we are to reject false prophets and false gospels, and to try all things with the word of God. With what justification should we ignore these very clear commands? Because you do not like people talking about the errors of a religion that the Bible says will cost them their souls? Aye, I’d rather follow God on this one, not you.
“And you did not correct any errors at all because you don,t seem to even know what the conservation is about, at least on my behalf.”
I’m not sure you know what the conversation is about, at least on your behalf. How is pointing to an ancient practice of polygamy that was corrected some 2,000 years ago, long before Joseph Smith picked up 30 wives, 12 of whom were still married to other men, and some as young as 14 years old, actually work to defend Mormon practice?
You say “Well, I don’t know if it is or isn’t blessed by God.” I’ve already shown you that it isn’t, which you ignored. But it’s frightening that you would even venture on your own line of argument without actually checking on that question before hand.
By any rational standard, it does not support the Mormon cause. So what are you going on about? Nothing. Nothing at all. It is a post, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
“Now would you please get off of my back until you can find something we can discuss with out all of this I know more than you do crap.”
I know more than you do. And it isn’t pride. It’s just observation.
The scripture is quite clear that we are to reject false prophets and false gospels,
Regardless of what Paul says
I will have to admit that you sure do sound like you are sharper than a popcorn fart.
“I am rejecting your add on,s and assumptions.”
I am rejecting your absolute ignorance of scripture and your claim, in effect, which denies that we are to reject false Prophets.
Here are some relevant quotes:
Gal_1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Mat_7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Rom_16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
2Th_2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
“Regardless of what Paul says”
That’s the problem. You don’t actually care what Paul has to say on anything, or any of the Apostles, or of Jesus Christ Himself. You’re just happy to defend the most repulsive heresies imaginable, which make of God a created being, whose sole purpose is to puff up the vanity of criminals and pedophile prophets, who claimed to read ancient reformed Egyptian hidden in their hats and discovered, one and for all, that Christianity is false and that we need to follow them so we can become polygamous gods of our own planets.
Good luck with that. But as for me, I’ll continue to stand fast in what was delivered to us by the Apostles.
