He should excommunicate them both

They have excommunicated themselves

How absurd.

This is what needs to be said to them:

"We separate them, together with their accomplices and abettors, from the precious body and blood of the Lord and from the society of all Christians; we exclude them from our Holy Mother, the Church in Heaven, and on earth; we declare them excommunicate and anathema; we judge them damned, with the Devil and his angels and all the reprobate, to eternal fire until they shall recover themselves from the toils of the devil and return to amendment and to penitence."

I have no doubt this Pope will know who those two evil wankers are. I am sure he will be apprised of who is attending.

If I was the two of them I would not want to show my face in front of the Holy Father. They both should have been denied communion a long time ago. I’ll be curious to see how he receives them.

You are right about William Bendix’s famous line in “The Life of Riley.” The golden age of REAL sitcoms. I guess this means that you are my advanced age.

He was already removed from St. Mary Major as soon as canon law allowed. (Cardinals must be pastors of Roman churches.) The point of the incident was that it shows that Pope Francis was disgusted by him.

Pope Benedict and/or John Paul seemed to have had the attitude, “well, we don’t have any specific evidence that he broke any criminal or canon laws, as bad as the situation looks, and as tragic as the outcomes were.” Pope Francis seems to have more the attitude of, “well get him out of my sight anyway! He disgusts me!”

The church preaches, it does not enforce. Cardinal Burke can proclaim to the world that pro-abortion politicians drink condemnation onto themselves when they receive the eucharist, and he can admonish and clarify canon law to his fellow bishops. But I do not know of any mechanism by which he can force Cardinal Wuerl to act. The church seems so much harsher against the trads than the liberals, the SSPX broke canon law. The liberals are more subversive.

Sending the House minority leader is odd. It’s purpose is to insult.

I read that Obama offered the spot to Boehner, but that Boehner declined. My question is did Boehner decline because of "too much work", or because he was embarrassed to appear with Biden?

I missed the word, “inaugural.” In general, Wuerl does what he wants in his diocese. At the papal mass, it’s up to Pope Francis. My main concern is that being an Argentine, he doesn’t know Pelosi from Adam.

Nobody is going to deny Communion to a high political official. It never happens and never will.

I have been informed by the members of this forum that the Cardinal of Buenos Aires, Argentina would indeed be well versed on internal partisan politics in the United States. Probably reads The Hill and watches the Sunday Morning Talk Shows.

BTW, if the abortocrats can push abortion and fag marriage as being in line with Catholic teaching and still receive Communion, then conservatives can tell the bishops to go fly a kite on the issues of taxes, welfare, immigration, and capital punishment. Seamless garment, doncha know.

Sad all the way around on Roberts.

Moral of the story: never out your hopes on "Men in Black" as Mark Levin wrote.

The scoundrels who get away scott free on writing or rather passing these abominations need to be as far away from DC as we can send them.

They are about to flush this country down the drain while we sit back at home and hope for 5 good men riding white horses to declare this crap "unconstitutional," when they ha e vested interests elsewhere.

Once I found out Congress exempted itself from "insider trading," I realized the gig was up, we are jailed for stuff they do each and every day.

Now they tell me, employees at the IRS owe millions in unpaid taxes, while they threaten to jail great auntie for owing $15,000 on some stock she didn't even know she owned!

I used to think people who said they were all crooks and there was no difference between the parties, were cynics, I no longer believe that. They ARE all crooks and sadly, I'm paying them!

Roberts was basically an unknown when Bush picked him. He had about two years sitting on an appeals court and nothing else. Earlier in his career he represented a couple of sodomites before the Supreme Court. HE WAS THEIR LAWYER.

Roberts is a liberal. A wasted pick by a republican president. Clinton could have picked this loser for that matter. As long as he sits on the bench he will always side with liberals. Saying DOMA is unconstitutional will be his next decision.

Nobody said a word about internal politics, the President and vice-president and a Speaker of the House were mentioned, you might not read much, but a powerful, high ranking man in Argentina who was in line to be Pope, would probably at least read a daily newspaper.

It is natural that a democrat president would choose the two leading Catholic politicians in America, from his own party, and the party supported by Catholic voters.

It seems that Cardinal Law is doing fine and has merely been moved sideways to give him a lower profile, it isn’t like he is being booted and becoming one of the common people, he is still inside the bubble.

Thank you for clarifying for me. I was uncertain whether Cardinal Burke could himself directly admonish Pelosi et al not to present for communion. In other words not force Wuerl’s hand but act by virtue of his own authority. Thanks again!

As a (long since lapsed) Catholic, when I find myself in church I don’t go for communion since I know the rules and I know I don’t follow them.

Way I figure, if you want to break the rules, it’s up to you, but I’ve never seen a priest outright refuse Eucharist to someone.

The honor system is in play here.
