“The promo begins with the familiar Aretha Franklin tune, I Say a Little Prayer, playing in the background.”
HUH?!?
I gave up watching all of the various “Law & Order” series when they did an episode on honor killings and the perpetrator was a Christian Fundamentalist. 99.999% of the honor killings in the world are done by Muslims, but Dick Wolf decided to go in a different direction.
I think this was the plotline of “Footloose” (30 years ago)
The show’s tagline should be “If their father was muslim, these whores would be dead already.” Let’s see how “edgy” Lifetime is willing to be.
Every preachers daughter I ever met was willing and able to stray.
I seriously question the judgement of the “pastors” that have allowed their families to be exploited as examples of wayward daughters. Just the fact that they are willing to be paid for this explains in part why their daughters like to act out.
“EVANGELIST NIKITA KOLOFF AND 16-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER KOLBY APPEAR IN NEW LIFETIME TV REALITY SHOW.”
(sorry, caps in the caption under the photo)
There is nothing real about reality TV. I am sick of the nonsense about Amish Gone Wild and other Hollywood idiocy.
Most adolescents go through a phase where they rebel against their parents’ values in the polar opposite direction.
And in the case of a preacher’s daughter that means rebelling against chastity. Not all of them certainly, but they’re out there.
Betcha a bunch of butcher’s daughters are vegetarians too.
Bookmarked for viewing after work.
The 2 that I have known were.
Can't blame this one on hollywood, the family has already provided the script AND the characters........
Then theres Kolby, the 16-year-old daughter of Nikita Koloff, a former professional wrestler who makes the familys home in Spring Hill, Tennessee but is now a traveling evangelist. Kolbys mom Victoria, who is divorced from her dad Nikita, happens to be a preacher herself, hosting a faith-based radio program.
Small sample size and obvious selection bias I admit...
Every child of a Police Officer I ever met was inclined towards criminality.
Every child of a Preacher I ever met was inclined towards a sinful life.
These “Pastors: would NOT qualify as “Elders(http://bible.org/article/qualifications-evaluation-elders-and-deacons “ much less “pastors”.
The hardest partying kids I knew were preacher’s kids. A couple of the easiest girls in town were daughters of a hard assed evangelical minister who spent all his time condemning everyone and everything around him while his daughters...3 out of 4...were busy producing illegitriamste babies. Made me glad that our Priests couldn’t marry!
Gee, another fake, scripted “Reality Show”. How cliched.
If this is accurate characterization, then there is little difference with the world--not like some extreme cases, but blantant disregard of God's word:
Three years ago I made the mistake of actually reading the Bible. (The goal is once a year). Believers who have the Holy Spirit need no man teach them (1 John 2:27). It can help/accelerate the process, but reading the Bible is critical. The current faith and practice of many run counter to God's word, due to their ignorance. I blame mealy mouthed, cowardly preachers/men for this, for not adhering to God's word, even at their own hurt and possible loss of wordly stature. The world hated Jesus. It will hate and persecute all those who try to live godly in Christ Jesus. (2 Tim 3:12). Suck it up.
I've found that, as a general rule, to be true. I've also found that most preachers are very far from being the paragons of virtue that they are portrayed as.
ABC had a series last year..GCB (stands for “good christian bitches)..lasted all of 10 episodes before getting cancelled..let them keep on wasting their $$$..
During that rebellious phase kids run the opposite of their parents. Biggest dopehead I ever knew was the daughter of a vice cop. As for the TV show... it’s always amazing to me how anti-woman the “woman’s” network is. Lifetime, where women get beaten, raped and murdered. And now they have reality programs featuring some of the most obnoxious women on TV; many of whom are probably going to get beaten, raped and murdered. Really if the Playboy channel showed these same shows unaltered in any way the women’s movement would be in massive protest, but put it on the “woman’s” network and it’s all OK.
“God made the world in seven days,”
No, He made it in six days. He rested the seventh.
