Cardinal Sean OMalley said he and the worlds other cardinals are still trying to learn more about their colleagues before choosing Pope Benedict XVIs successor, he told reporters in Rome today.
Youre faced with a number of choices, but I dont think any of us have gone in saying, This is who I would vote for, OMalley said at a press conference. We are still in a process of discernment and prayer and trying to learn more.
We all recognize their talent and their goodness and competence.

Also, Cruz did not see Tagle's age as a stumbling block. When John Paul II was elected pope, he was 58 at that time.
Tagle, at 55, is the second youngest member of the College of Cardinals.
