The early years of Jesus served no purpose to be recorded.
And when He was born to obscure parents in a barn, and hid in Egypt?

Obscure parents were deemed the best way for him to be raised and Egypt was a safe haven as were the catacombs. Seeking safety is not the same as withholding "revelations" from God. We are not to hide the light under a basket.
