That's a new one!
Let's see if YOU can find anything in the following to DISAGREE with...
Color coding explanation:
Added stuff... Changed stuff... Rearranged stuff... Removed stuff...
*(UNDERLINED stuff is the DISTRACTING reference on every tenth word or so that infuses LDS 'scripture' online.)

#5 Gee, yet another Mormonism-bashing thread.
Hey! ;^)
And maybe not...
Ca-ching!
So you ain't much for 'contending for the faith'; eh?
Jude 1:3
Do you happen to have a link for that?
Here ya go:
Fact,
Spin,
and Bible: all in one place.
Your links do not work. Thanks for the effort though. I appreciate your attempted offer of actual church issued doctrine instead of hearsay from church opponents. Sincerely.
LOL!
Kind of a long story to indicate that Mormons will turn gueer like so many other churches have already done, though they did hang in there longer thana lot of them did.
Mormon scripture Doctrine and Covenants 78:1-12
"
1 "The Lord spake unto Joseph Smith, Jun., saying: Hearken unto me, saith the Lord your God, who are ordained unto the ahighpriesthood of my church, who have assembled yourselves together;
2 And listen to the acounsel of him who has bordained you from on high, who shall speak in your ears the words of cwisdom, that salvation may be unto you in that thing which you have presented before me, saith the Lord God.
3 For verily I say unto you, the time has come, and is now at hand; and behold, and lo, it must needs be that there be anaorganization of my people, in regulating and establishing the affairs of the bstorehouse for the cpoor of my people, both in this place and in the land of dZion
4 For a permanent and everlasting establishment and order unto my church, to advance the cause, which ye have espoused, to the salvation of man, and to the glory of your Father who is in heaven;
5 That you may be aequal in the bonds of heavenly things, yea, and earthly things also, for the obtaining of heavenly things.
6 For if ye are not equal in earthly things ye cannot be aequal in obtaining heavenly things;
7 For if you will that I give unto you a place in the acelestialworld, you must bprepare yourselves by cdoing the things which I have commanded you and required of you.
8 And now, verily thus saith the Lord, it is expedient that all things be done unto my aglory, by you who are joined together in this border;
9 Or, in other words, let my servant Newel K. Whitney and my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and my servant Sidney Rigdon sit in council with the saints which are in aZion;
10 Otherwise aSatan seeketh to turn their bhearts away from the truth, that they become cblinded and understand not the things which are prepared for them.
11 Wherefore, a commandment I give unto you, to prepare and organize yourselves by a abond or everlasting bcovenant that cannot be broken.
12 And he who breaketh it shall lose his office and standing in the church, and shall be adelivered over to the bbuffetings of Satan until the day of redemption."
Sounds a lot like Obama to me.
Why not post a thread about all these other heretics, and ping me.
This is a thread about mormonism, so the discussion is about mormonism - simple concept really.
Wow look at everyone getting all their P’s in a twist over your Mormon bashing comment. You struck a nerve.
Boy some folks spend so much time obsessing about Mormons they rent half their brains for free!!LOL
Please, provide Biblical references for your claim.
Inasmuch as laws have been enacted by Congress forbidding plural marriages, which laws have been pronounced constitutional by the court of last resort, I hereby declare my intention to submit to those laws, and to use my influence with the members of the Church over which I preside to have them do likewise.
There is nothing in my teachings to the Church or in those of my associates, during the time specified, which can be reasonably construed to inculcate or encourage polygamy; and when any Elder of the Church has used language which appeared to convey any such teaching, he has been promptly reproved. And I now publicly declare that my advice to the Latter-day Saints is to refrain from contracting any marriage forbidden by the law of the land.
Wilford Woodruff President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The fleshly body of Jesus required a Mother as well as a Father. Therefore Father and Mother of Jesus, according to the flesh, must have been associated together in the capacity of Husband and Wife; hence the Virgin Mary must have been, for the time being, the lawful wife of God the Father... Apostle Orson Pratt The Seer, Oct. 1853, page 158
The birth of the Saviour was as natural as are the births of our children; it was the result of natural action. He partook of flesh and bloodwas begotten of his Father, as we were of our fathers. Brigham Young Journal of Discourses, vol. 8, p. 115
Christ was begotten by an immortal Father in the same way that mortal men are begotten; and Son means son. Christ was begotten by an Immortal Father in the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers. Mormon Doctrine, 1979, pages 546-47 Apostle Bruce R. McConkie
It was also lawful in Him, after having dealt with Mary, to give her to Joseph her espoused husband. Whether God the Father gave Mary to Joseph for time only, or for time and eternity, we are not informed. Inasmuch as God was the first husband to her, it may be that He only gave her to be the wife of Joseph while in this mortal state, and that He intended after the resurrection to again take her as one of his own wives to raise up immortal spirits in eternity. The Seer, Oct. 1853, pg. 158
The birth of the Saviour was as natural as are the births of our children; it was the result of natural action. He partook of flesh and bloodwas begotten of his Father, as we were of our fathers. Brigham Young Journal of Discourses, vol. 8, p. 115

Brigham Young: l believe the Father came down from heaven, as the Apostles said he did, and begat the Savior of the World; for He is the Only Begotten of the Father which could not have been if the Father did not actually beget him in person. (Journal of Discourses Vol. 1 page 238) AND The birth of the Savior was as natural as are the births of our children ; it was the result of natural action. He partook of flesh and bloodwas begotten of his Father, as we were of our fathers (Journal of Discourses Vol. 8 page 115)
Physical relations between God and Mary has been clearly advocated in the Church by such authorities as Brigham Young [1], Orson Pratt [2], Heber C. Kimball [3], Joseph F. Smith, [4], Joseph Fielding Smith [5], James E. Talmage [6], Melvin J. Ballard [7], J. Reuben Clark [8], Bruce R. McConkie [9], and Ezra Taft Benson [10]. Mormons believe that Christ was literally the Son of God in the flesh, and he was conceived in a natural, physical way according to eternal law.
Heber C. Kimball In relation to the way in which I look upon the works of God and his creatures, I will say that I was naturally begotten; so was my father, and also my Saviour Jesus Christ. According to the Scriptures, he is the first begotten of his father in the flesh, and there was nothing unnatural about it. (Journal of Discourses, 8:211)
Christ Not Begotten of Holy Ghost... Christ was begotten of God. He was not born without the aid of Man, and that Man was God! (Doctrines of Salvation, Joseph Fielding Smith, 1954, 1:18).
Bruce McConkie These name-titles all signify that our Lord is the only Son of the Father in the flesh. Each of the words is to be understood literally. Only means only; Begotten means begotten; and Son means son. Christ was begotten by an Immortal Father in the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers. (Mormon Doctrine, 1979, pages 546-47)
There is nothing figurative about his paternity; he was begotten, conceived and born in the normal and natural course of events, for he is the Son of God, and that designation means what it says. (Mormon Doctrine, 1966, p. 742)
There is no need to spiritualize away the plain meaning of the scriptures. There is nothing figurative or hidden or beyond comprehension in our Lords coming into mortality. He is the Son of God in the same sense and way that we are the sons of mortal fathers. It is just that simple. (The Promised Messiah: The First Coming of Christ, p. 468)
Your link cites 19th century writings. Do you happen to have anything a bit more current about present church doctrine (preferably from the church itself and not from an opponent of the church)? Thanks in advance.
