On the first bead I also like to think of the fact that Jesus came and stood with sinners --- with cheats, frauds, crooked customers, haitual offenders, humbugs --- with us. The sinless one did not cower back from standing with the well-known shuffling hypocrites we know ourselves to be. So he was showing Himself to stand with the (figurative) bastards, and then shown by His Father to be the true Son "with whom he is well-pleased."
He's a whole heckuva lot better to us than we deserve.
