What power, exactly, am I missing by not being one of his people? The power of self-delusion? I could be wrong, but what do you expect from an agnostic? God exists or God doesn’t exist. Proponents of either position are unable to PROVE their points, hence my skepticism...in spite of years of Catholic training.
I don’t remember any of that happening in my lifetime but I do remember the moment that I decided that there was no Santa Claus and I was not yet in Kindergarten...My second oldest nephew believed in Santa until he was almost nine. I don’t know of any kid that doesn’t like to have presents show up out of seemingly nowhere with their name on them...What’snot to like about Christmas?
When my grandfather passed around Christmas many years ago I asked The Lord to hold off though I knew it was his time and he was not in pain not for me but for my mother as I felt she would need me when the time came. I finished my exams and immediately hit the road. I arrived home after a ten (normally twelve) hour drive. 15 minutes later the call from the hospital came. I knew as soon as the phone rang my pray had been answered but that it was time. I know the power of prayer and faith.
I also know as a physics major the wonder of creation and that there are too many statistical issues for it to be just happenstance - the 3rd law of thermodynamics alone is enough proof of creation by design for me.
Merry Christmas all and to all a blessed good night.
Thanks for posting these inspirational, well articulated thoughts. I especially like you analogy to sitting in the house with the lights out when the power is readily available. Merry Christmas!
That word “authority” is undeserved kindness. It’s will and it’s faith. And it is free to all. No matter where we are on the outside, but where we are on the inside.
This post is prosperity gospel garbage. When Jesus spoke about receiving “whatever you ask”, He followed with a statement about keeping His commandments.
Check out 1 John 3:22-23.
God’s “power”? To do what? get rich? Be successful?
No, that is magic, and the devil who offers you the power to show off by floating down from the pinnacle of the temple. It is the devil who offers you the power to rule the world.
Grow up. Stuff like this makes a lot of us reject “god”, i.e. the false god of a lot of so called “christians”.

Thankyou again simply inspiring to read.
