...An article on the pagan origins of Christmas...
You turn the Lords Supper into a pagan cannibal fest .....
i guess Paul was confused as well 1 Corinthians 10:16 -
the cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation IN THE BLOOD OF CHRIST? the bread which we break, is it not a participation IN THE BODY OF CHRIST?
you speak of a “true church”, very interesting. does this “true church” have any members that have names? did it have any leaders with names? did any of its members ever write any books or letters?
isn’t it funny, this “true church” you speak of seems to be hidden from history, no names, no writings.....very strange.
almost makes me think this “true church” of yours is about as real as santa claus ( at least santa has a name! )
“trappings of the holiday”
what do trappings have to do with the fact the Church celebrates that Jesus Christ became man, born of a virgin, on December 25th?
i never understood why non-Christians care what Christians do, can you explain that to me?
“Easter” does Satan proud.
You couldn’t move any further from the truth of the resurrection than “Easter.”
“my pagan worship”
hmm, that’s interesting, care to back that up?
paganism is the worship of false gods, are you saying the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is a false god?
must i explain Luke 24 to you again??
.
The fall feasts still have one more set of fulfillments to come: The triumphal return of Yeshua and the resurrection of his elect. The “Wise Virgins” that keep those appointed times will know to expect them, and be ready to meet him; the foolish virgins will not be ready and will be lost. This, of course applies primarily to those alive at his coming.

They certainly did. Paul even instructed gentile converts to keep the feasts:
1Co_5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
It was a normal, natural thing for the first Christians to observe the feast days of their, and our, Lorda and saviour Jesus Christ:
1Co 11:1 Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.
1Co 11:2 Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you.
There is no doubt that Christ kept the holy days he created and there is no doubt the first Christians kept them.
In fact, it was over 300 years AFTER the death of Christ that the traditional Christian church "officially" turned their backs on the practice of Christ and on his holy days.
Why do you try to twist and destroy the words of Paul?
The true church is the church that has no wealth, nor buildings and trappings, and meets where and whenever two or more are gathered in his name, just as Yeshua said so plainly.
The true church is hidden from the lost, but known to all of his elect when they come together.
So you're saying Jesus and the Apostles didn't hide Easter eggs and look for them? That sorta ruins that after church ordeal a lot of churchs go through.
Yet the sacred tree of Armstrongism is withering away,ay by day.
You need to explain Luke to yourself.
Good one (about pocket protectors...) which leads to a point. Jews have 613 commandments from G-d in the Torah, (gentiles have 7 by the way... noahide.org) and 7 from our sages, these 620 have may offshoots and subcategories of course, like pocket protection, or say, flicking a light switch on Shabbos. When you say “no takanos” it’s codeword for heretic (scary word for one who does not believe in the written and oral Torah given to Moses by G-d on Mount Sinai.) So your proof doesn’t fit the test case anymore. Not Orthodox Jews and can’t therefore prove to me how they, Orthodox Jews, disagree with a fundamental teaching of Jewish orthodoxy, ie, we are now in the 11th day (on the east coast) of the 4th month in the 5773rd year from when...wait for it...NOT from when G-d said,” Let there be...” but rather from when He created man on the 6th day. That my friend, is some serious Jew-stuff.
that’s very interesting, so for the first 300 years after Christ died, Christians were still keeping these OT feasts.
if this is true, surely these “Christians” must have names....can you name a few?
surely they must have left writings, can you reference a few?
i hear statements like yours all the time, but no one can ever point to any body with a name, leaders or writings.
maybe i have been asking the wrong people, you seem to have an understanding of history.....we’ll see.
no, the True Church is the light of the world, a city set on a hill that can’t be hid.
the True Church has been here for 1,979 years and can trace itself back to the Apostles, an unbroken apostolic succession of faith.
false prophets have arisen against the Church during this period, but as Jesus predicted, the gates of hell did not prevail against it.
still can’t name any members of this so called “true church” you are referring to, huh??
>> “so for the first 300 years after Christ died, Christians were still keeping these OT feasts.” <<
.
First, they are not OT feasts; they are for all time, according to his word.
Second, the gospels and the epistles all say that they were keeping the feasts, so why do you disbelieve them?
Names? The disciples, the Colossians, the Galatians, the Corinthians, and the Philippians.
You could read about the Quartodecimanism controversy which was the most obvious.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quartodecimanism
Traditional Christianity moved away from observing the holy days of Jesus Christ primarily because the Jewish people revolted against the Roman Empire a number of times. Hatred of Jews and anything Jewish by Romans become fashionable and many Christians did not wish to be seen as jews so they stopped doing things that might tie them to Jews. The most obvious of these would be observing the same days as jews.
Eventually it became heresy for a Christian to keep the same days as jews and those who did honor the Lord by honoring his holy days dropped out of "official" church history.
haha, just as i thought.
the light of the world and city set on a hill can’t be found after 95ad.
if you say so.
There is no evidence in the Bible of an unbroken apostolic succession of faith.
There is plenty of evidence that Paul and John trained disciples, but no evidence of their apostolic office. To the contrary, the Revelation says plainly that there were exactly 12 apostles.
It is the Nicolaitans that declare themselves to be apostles, but there is no fruit to affirm them. To the contrary, there are the constant sex scandals among them that show plainly that their apostleship is of Satan, not Christ.
