Most Protestants find it abhorant to make statements such as "it COULD have happened this way" and then to build upon them.
We prefer to say "it COULD have happened this way" and "it MIGHT have happened this other way" or even "it POSSIBLY didn't happen at all" and just leave the UNKNOWN what it is: unknown.

That is a pretty humorous statement as Protestanism is built on filling in the blanks or actually negating what isn't a blank.
