PORTLAND, Oregon — Police in Portland say a maximum $1,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest in the case of Italian marble religious statues damaged at a Catholic shrine and botanical garden.
Sgt. Pete Simpson says three statues were damaged this week, with the heads removed.
Police recovered one of the statue heads Friday after a passer-by called to say it was perched on a post at the west end of the 62-acre site popularly known as The Grotto. That head belonged to a statue of the Virgin Mary.
Still missing are heads belonging to statues of St. Joseph and the infant Jesus.
Simpson says the statues are more than 100 years old.
Crime Stoppers is offering the reward.

Militant homosexuals most likely suspects.

There was an overflowing Mass when we were there and most people, even in Portland, seem to be very respectable of the grounds and facilities. I did not see any graffiti. It has probably occurred, but must be infrequent. Our girls walked with me through the labyrinth, which is an addition since last visit, as are a couple of the prayer points. Very nice!

Yes, I should have said not extraordinarily valuable like the Pietà but still highly treasured by Grotto patrons and worthy of a careful repair.

I would guess these individuals were severely admonished by their mission superiors. Quite a contrast from the queers who would go back home to a celebrational orgy with Satanic overtones.

“Many Muslims actually revere Miriam.”
Perhaps, but not through use of “icons”.
