I received a letter from The Social Security administration; they had made some kind of mistake in calculating the benefits due to my daughter and I. They had corrected the mistake, and had deposited over $1,800 into my checking account.

The woman is on SSD and she was overpaid taxpayer $$$. That’s something to rejoice about?
So being shortchanged by the SS admin was good fortune?
Several years ago, I got a check for over a thousand dollars because the agency I worked for had not paid overtime that it allowed but did not require.
I actually was sure I had not done any of that overtime but they were unable to calculate the exact amounts due to records being lost so they just averaged out an amount and paid it to everyone.
It did come at a good time and it really was just found money.
My wife who has been waiting almost 2 years for SSD would just be happy to get a letter saying they will give it to her. We’d even forgo the back pay to speed things along as I have been able to stay afloat with some really good contract work that just happened to come along at the right time (go figure huh?)
Been a few days since the neropathy and fibro have allowed her out of bed for more than an hour.
They keep saying she can go back to work. Doing what I don’t know. (and neither do they!)
Glad they are taking care of someone.

No, they miscalculated the amount they owed me. They had shorted me.
I just knew I’d get flack from people on here. Instead of marveling at God’s blessings, there is dissension.
As a side note: I have worked all my life since I was 14 years old. I paid into the system and have a genuine disability. Even so, I continue to work around it.

Yes, it was. They discovered their mistakes and the money came to me when I needed it more than ever. That’s God.
That’s wonderful. I had written most of this story previously but it was just sitting, unpublished. After today’s blessing, I decided to post it on my blog. I think people need to see, read, and hear about God’s blessings.
I’m sorry to hear about your wife. I was turned down the first time, got a lawyer the second time around. It took around a year the second time, I would estimate. I did get the back pay also. I’m truly sorry your wife is suffering so much and hope she gets the SSD.
We started with a lawyer. We are to the last review before we see a judge.
Some days are better than others for her. She gets the worse when the weather changes. well, this is Minnesota, it changes hourly this time of year.
God grants us the ability to provide for our needs. It’s His challange to use those divine gifts to strive for what we want.
The judge reviewed my file and made his decision to grant me the disability without even seeing me, based on the doctor’s reports and my inability to keep a job. One day I just got a call from the lawyer saying she had good news. So you may not even see the judge.

They have been robbing you for years and finally gave you your own money.

I don’t see it as “robbing” me. I believe the way it happened was a gift from God.
The Army overpaid me for awhile on jump pay (because I was an instructor I had been sent to a leg unit), I went to finance trying to see if it was a mistake, but they said that every thing was in order and that I was entitled to the jump pay, I questioned it a couple of more times, and then dropped it.
When they caught their mistake, they just quit issuing me paychecks until it was paid back, they didn’t take payments, they just ceased my pay totally, I was married, had a car payment, and rented off base, yet I was in the Army and suddenly receiving zero pay, it was a dark thing for them to do.
Thank you. I am the writer of the blog and the recipient of God’s goodness. After today’s blessing, I felt it was time to finally post this story. I believe that God wants me to share the stories of His goodness with others.
That really was wrong to just take it all at once. I’m sorry this happened to you. From one who has struggled finacially for years, I understand how tought that would be.
