I guess our early martyrs Polycarp and Ignatius weren't 'first christians' then! Did I infer that?
What did you mean that Catholics didn't come along for 300 years? If Ignatius and Polycarp use 'catholic church' as a descriptor of the church over which they presided as bishops, are they not Catholics?
