Many people read the Bible literally and feel very strongly that there's nothing more to it than that, and yet Jesus Himself says the whole Old Testament is about Him. How could that be?!? We ponder this through a bizarre story in which Caleb pleads with Joshua to be given a mountain inhabited by enemy giants in fortified cities (Joshua 14).

All the religions of the world, other than Judaism, approach the idea of unity with the precept, “Believe as we believe, and the world will be one.” This approach has never worked. Judaism approaches unity from an entirely different perspective. It teaches that there are two paths, not just one.
One path is yours. The other one is mine. You travel yours and I will travel mine, and herein will be found true unity: the one God is found on both paths because the one God gave us both. The Noahide laws define the path that God gave to the non‑Jewish peoples of the world.

Remember he said he would have to come back and give the innkeeper more money for the man, whatever was needed beyond what he had. I do not assume the good samaritan was even in good health or a happy mind - the Bible doesn’t say, but he was in a good state of mind, in that he stopped for the poor beaten man as any true religion will teach to help the neighbor and make amends to the neighbor in any genuine offense. We know from the most excellent Writings of Swedenborg also that the Christian world can well be defined in that we know that Jesus Christ was Divine and not just a man but the Divine or a visible part of the Divine in actuality - so that any doctrine that denies the Divinity of the Lord God Jesus Christ is in a technical error. However, since the Lord God Jesus Christ draws all to him, forever trying to reveal Himself, and give of Himself, and share what He knows with all mankind, we pray for the healing in that all nations will know that He was Divine and is to be acknowledged as Divine. What a happy day when we are ready to meet our Lord Jesus Christ and recognize who he is. The process is often one of initial non-recognition, but then as we wrestle with Him for understanding we see Him for who He really is - the ultimate altar of worship and the very primordial God Himself, so prone to teach us, lead us and speak with us as He will do with His friends who have won the victory and the wrestling match. We do not think that the Lord God Jesus Christ is dumb and cannot speak, or blind and cannot see, or deaf and cannot hear. He speaks to whom he will, he sees what needs to be seen for His most distinguished work of mankind, and he hears when our cries reach to heaven. We know that many people can have the Holy Spirit with them as the closest proceeding from the Lord - people in the country, people in towns, people in cities, people in the workplace, people in government, commanders, princes, queens, and the poor. This is the right approach in that we seek to always help your brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, boys and girls and seek not to offend our brothers and sisters in the church for the kingdom comes quickly. Amen.
