What I think I can see is the swelling on the bridge on His nose, as if it had been broken by a blow or a fall. It also looks like there is a small part of His beard missing, maybe pulled?

I wish they had the same images for the rest of the body. I struggled to look at the right shoulder and maybe there's evidence of bruising by the weight of the cross.

Before anybody starts making fan of me, let me mention that I am not Roman Catholic, but as a chemistry graduate student I got a chance to listen to the head of the team that analyzed the Shroud in the late 70s or early 80s (my memory is not so good these days). I don't have any doubt that is THE shroud!

If you check out some other images he has on his site you can see that the hair is pulled back like a braid and the sides of his hair is hanging long beside his face (curled?) just the way the Orthodox Jews ware it today. The”hard shell” Jews never change anything.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t the beard been described before as a two-part beard or “forked” beard? Perhaps was the conventional way in that society?
