They are teaching her the things that no Catholic bothered to teach her. Had they bothered to preach the Gospel to them thenmaybe they would not be outnumbered by the muslims that want to kill them . Putting anything before God is idol worship , what ever you choose to call it doesn't change what it is .

I think the key here is 'worship', to worship a saint is to give what is rightly God's to another.
As Revelation 22 says:

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown them to me. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I’m a servant just like you and your brothers and sisters, the prophets, and those who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!”

Perhaps what the lady is seeing looks like adoration to her. When you come to know Jesus, you find you don’t need any other interceders.

It is a shame that some Christian denominations choose to believe that some of us worship saints. These saints fought the good fight and they are our heroes. We try to immolate them as they had the same trials and tribulations that we have.

Adoration is for Christ alone!
