No.

I wouldn’t.

Jesus was neither zealous nor was he obsessed. Those are human conditions and neither of them are particularly good.

Jesus loves us. Love. Despite our considerable flaws.

You are not capable of the same, that much is obvious and has been for sometime. That being said, neither am I.

Sorry. Not so.

13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “ZEAL for your house will consume me.” (John 2)

The quotation citation within John 2 is Psalm 69:9

The apostle Paul added in Galatians 4:18 It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good...

For Jews, zealous etymologically is tied to "jealousness."

For humans, we don't do well with jealousy. But with God who is pure, and since He has "rights" over His creation, His jealousy is pure...to the extent God says His very Name "is Jealous":

14 Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. (Exodus 34:14)

So whose authority on this are we to believe? Chris? Or the Bible?

Btw, some scholars say that as many as FIVE of Jesus' dozen disciples were "zealots"...with ONLY Judas "not working out" well among those five.

Iow, Jesus was not only NOT ashamed to be around them, He actively recruited them!

You haven’t read the Bible, Chris, have you? Jesus was zealous and obsessed with the truth.

He didn’t adopt a ‘live and let live’ policy. He turned peoples worldviews upside down and confronted false teachers. As his followers how can we do any less?

Poor Chris; shown to be wrong in front of the class.

Better put some ice on it.
