Muhammad Galaa Idris, who is the head Hebrew Studies Department at Tanta University in Egypt, has claimed that Pope Benedict XVI is either Jewish or has been “Judaized.” The Egyptian academic said this earlier this year in an interview with Al-Rahma TV, according to footage recorded and translated by MEMRI, the Middle East Media Research Institute. “The current pope Benedict IV or VII or whatever is even more Zionist then Herzl,” said Idris, adding “I follow his statements, and I’ve already said, that if that man is not a Jew then he has been Judaized, ” he concluded outrageously.
When asked by the host to provide examples of the pope’s Zionism, Idris said that “he recognized what the Nazis did to the Jews, the Jewish Holocaust,” and that, “all his statements are hostile to the Arabs and the Muslims.” Idris provided a reviewed of the "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” - an anti-Semitic fiction widely recognized as a fraud perpetrated by the government of Czar Nicholas II yet widely cited ever since - for the same channel, portraying its false assertions as fact.

Muhammad Galaa Idris: The current pope – Benedict IV or VII, or whatever – is even more Zionist than Herzl. I follow his statements, and I've already said that if that man is not a Jew, then he has been Judaized.
What he says exceeds what the Jews themselves say. He is more of a Zionist than the Zionists themselves.

Muhammad Galaa Idris: All his statements are in support of the Jews. He recognized what the Nazis did to the Jews, the Jewish Holocaust. All his statements are hostile to the Arabs and the Muslims. He slandered Islam, the Koran, the Muslims, and the Arabs.

He saw what the Nazis did to the Jews, as well as to the Germans they ruled. He risked his life to get away from them. He probably also noticed the parallels between what the Nazis said as they came to power and what the Muslims say now.
