Get to know your guardian angel. Like St. Pio, I have entrusted various tasks to my guardian angel, especially the responsibility of maintaining the list of those who have asked for my prayers. Once on that list, my angel is in charge and I can rest assured that when I offer up prayers for “the list”, everyone is included. Thank you, dearest guardian angel!

I must have missed that memo.
My guardian angel knows what I need before I do and steers me in the right direction. I know that sounds superficial but I believe it to be true. We should make sure that we give thanks. I will do so now. Good post.

We know that there are angels, and that God sends them to do his will among his people.
Anything beyond that is pure speculation.
Definition of speculation: an idea pulled from one’s fanny, which can be wholly rebutted simply by saying Nuh-Uh.
O Angel of Christ, holy guardian and protector of my soul and body, forgive me everything wherin I have offended thee every day of my life, and protect me from all influence and temptation of the evil one. May I nevermore anger God by any sin. Pray from me to the Lord, that He may make me worthy of the grace of the All-holy Trinity, and of the Most Blessed Theotokos, and of the Saints. Amen.
Without going into details, all I can say is someone or something pulled my strings in such a way that I was able to walk away from a freak auto accident without injury when I should have been killed instantly. I believe that was my guardian angel.
We were having a discussion in our prayer group last week on whether we should give our guardian angel a name. Some heard this should never be done and others said it is appropriate. What are your thoughts?
They are, of course, God's messengers and agents, and it is to Him that I am truly grateful.

My first grade teacher, a nun, told me of my guardian angel. I was actually affronted at the suggestion that I could have someone watching over me and yet my life be the mean, pointless slog that it was. I seriously doubted the whole thing. I have never been able to warm up to the idea since.
Here’s the part of the score sheet I can recall, regarding life saves:
Rolling down a very steep rock hill (all rip rap),
Near drowning in irrigation ditch,
Military orders changing, that would have put me at very high risk,
Dozens of near misses on the highway,
Cancer,
Nearly bleeding to death, internally,
Abandon on night dives...in the ocean,
etc...
They pointedly advertise that "every professor has the Mandatum."
We know we have ‘Guardian Angels’. We have experienced them numerous times in our lives. On occasion they have been seen. Now, I will share something that is very personal for my wife and I, but it is something that the Lord has Himself told us we may share. We do from time to time over the past several years get messages from the Lord. He ‘speaks’ to us, we hear and write it down, as He has told us to do. Here are five of those messages that refer to those Angels surrounding us, to give us peace and to protect us, to protect us and to provision us, protecting all that is Mine, assigned to protect us.
Here are the messages...shared for the edification of anyone reading who will be edifided and encouraged by the words shared. These were given to us over the past four years. If you understand, be blessed. If you do not understand, be blessed.
“There are those who would see you fail and not accomplish the work I have given you. These are dark side forces. Your protection from these forces is this wall of My Host, My angels surrounding you and all that I have given in your care as part of the work I have given you. Have no fear. Nothing that comes against you can succeed.”
“I see the turmoil, the undercurrents of fear, even doubt going on inside you. I sent My Angel of Peace to give you peace and to protect you. He will remain with you. He is not alone. There are others guarding what is Mine. Lay aside all doubts and fears and rest in the peace I give you.
You are absorbing My peace. Let Me again see the joy that I give you. Let Me see that you feel that joy!”
“Be comforted in My presence. Be comforted in My love, My peace, My joy. No harm, no distractions, no assaults touch you in My presence. My angels are with you to protect you and to provision you. They are your friends, My messengers, your protectors.”
“You are experiencing another year of change. Some 40 days have passed and there have already been numerous changes. My change is always for good. Your lives are changing as I direct events around you. As I make ready your path for your part in changing My world the evil you see is itself being overcome in many ways that you don’t see. It is being overcome by My power. My power protects you. My angels protect all that is Mine. All that you have is Mine, protected by My power and by My angels. No one can touch you. No one can touch what I have given in your care. Be at peace. Be joyful. Share My peace. Share My joy. Share My love wherever you go.”
“Never forget that I am in control. I see all, know all. There is evil in the land. Their own evil will destroy them. They know no peace. They refuse to know Me. Be ready to move with Me as their systems collapse. Their evil systems have become a house of cards. They cannot touch you. My messengers, My angels are assigned to protect you. Give thanks now for what you are about to witness, what your are about to see Me do.”
“Many interpreters believe that the last part of verse 10 teaches that God has guardian angels who take special care of small children. However the context of verse 10 is not talking about small children but disciples who need to be as humble as small children. “
“Furthermore the angels in this passage are continually beholding God’s face in heaven, not watching the movements of small children on earth. “
“Evidently the angels in view are the supernatural messengers (the normal meaning of “angels”) who assist God’s people (Heb. 1:14). This seems to me to be more likely than that they are the spirits of believers after death who constantly behold God’s face (cf. Acts 12:15).”

“Are there guardian angels for children? I like to think there are because of God’s concern for children (e.g., 19:14–15), but I cannot point to a verse that teaches this explicitly.”

I did not hear anything like that when i was a kid
and i will not deny that a personal guardian angel sounds good but where does it say any thing like that in the Bible?
I have a scripture that i guess i must have made up because even though i thought that i had read it in the bible i have not been able to find it when needed and it is this.
Who so ever believes a lie and teaches it to be so is in danger of condemnation.
We believe what we believe but to teach something that we can not easily prove by scripture in plain words and with out going over the whole bible and getting a little bit here and a little bit there is not what i call wholesome teaching.
If what the story says is true then why do so many children lose their lives in such simple incidences such as drownings?
Heaven’s words to the Tenderheart are powerful. These messages speak about the need of confession often, of getting in the state of grace and why. They are messages for everyone.

Know That You Are Never Alone
Children of My Sacred Heart,
I love you. I Am that I Am. I Am the Alpha and the Omega, your Abba. I come to you barring gifts of compassion, and mercy. My Children, I desire to bless you once more. I desire to grow close to you. I need you. I need your words of love, and tenderness. I rejoice each time you open your hearts to Me. I rejoice as does the entire Celestial Court. My Children, I have given you angels to command. I wish to instruct you now. Many of you live as though you are not under the constant watch of your guardian angels... Many of you ignore the guidance My guardians try to give you. You should see the multitude of angels who come before My Throne of Glory with nothing to offer Me. Many of them only keep account of your shortcomings. Few of them have positive changes to report. Often, angels interceed before Me, imploring My mercy. They have empty hands... Children, your angels keep track of everything you do. They offer Me your prayer petitions, and always interceed on your behalf. Sometimes, they know full well that your petitions will not be granted to you. They know My ways, yet they kneel before Me, and speak. Children, please honor your angels with gifts of obedience, humility, and devotion. Devote yourselves to the task at hand: you are to love Me with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul. You are to devote your entire existence to pleasing Me. I Am awaits your tokens of love, and devotion. I Am desires to hear you finally whisper words of love with conviction. I Am commands you to make Love your priority. Love is deserving of your worship. Love is deserving of your adoration. Kneel down before Me in love. Kneel down, and invite your angels to pray with you. They desire to be included in your daily activities. They desire to know that you love, and appreciate them also. Your angels have been at your side since the moment of your conception. They have guarded you, prayed, and watched over you in all faithfulness. Reward them now with expressions of your respect, and gratitude. Send them to Holy Mass when you can not attend. Send them to minister to those you love while you are away. Send them in parts of the world were war rages to calm My sons and daughters. They will obey you, and defend you. If you have a problem in particular, they will assist you in your fight against Evil. They will give you the strength you need to persevere. My Children, your angels pray without ceasing. Charge them with your very own prayer intentions, and you will see your lives transformed. This day, I will instruct your angels to anoint you. I will command them to minister to you, and to bring healing to your wounded hearts. They will console you, and you will truly feel their presence beside you. Know that you are never alone. I have gifted you all with Compagnons. I have gifted you with My Supreme Majesty, and Light. I have gifted you in Truth, even though sometimes you prefer to ignore it. You ignore Me. Ignore your angels no more. They wish to serve you for My glory. I have entered into a covenant with you. I remain faithful. My Love Covenant is a great blessing to you all. I will honor it. I will act in accordance, and My Father’s Heart will seek your expressions of tenderness with each passing day. Remember this. I Am, the King of All Nations, is your Father in Love. You are heirs to the Kingdom. You are Sons and Daughters of the Most High by adoption! Angels have not received this blessing from Me. You hold a special place in My heart. You are under the Royal Guard. My angels protect you! Therefore, behave as Princes, and Princesses of Heaven. When your guardian angels invite you to pray so that you may grow close to Me, often times you fail to respond to their call. From this day forth, when you feel the urge to pray, listen to your guardian angels, and thank them for helping you in your walk to holiness for they are also under My command. Your angels have mandates to carry out. They are to lead you to Me. They do instruct you. They protect, and serve out of love. Many times, you have had encounters with angels who do My biding. Put your angels to work, and thank them each time they assist you. Upon your death, you will enter into My Glory, and you will see your guardian angel standing right beside you. I now invite you to imagine the times when your Compagnon prayed, and consoled you. I leave you My kiss of peace.
